So I've gotten very bored with Animal Crossing:New Leaf and decided to stop playing it. But what should I do with my rare villagers and stuff? Give them away? Sell them? And what should I do with all my items? I'm pretty much just looking for feedback

(I'm staying on TBT though, I could never quit that)

I'd recommend giving them away since you aren't going to play anymore, but if you might play again, you should sell them.

You can do what I do when I'm done playing for a while and visit every other day to check to make sure my villagers are still there. Also make sure to put on beautiful ordinance and cut down bamboo if you don't have them surrounded enough to stop growth (be sure to save the sprouts for future planting when you come back).

If you might play again, maybe you should keep your unorderable items and sell/giveaway your popular villagers, since some of them might just move away anyway if you stop playing for a while. It depends if you wanna keep them though.

This is a good idea. You never know when you're going to want to play again.

I wouldn't get rid of anything.Your villagers will not move if you stop playing on a day that one runs up to you and says they are moving.Tell them to stay, and quite playing.Put in beautiful town ordinance, and your game will be the same as you left it.Except for a few weeds and more flowers.Just because you take a break (and it sounds like you may return) doesn't mean you should give away everything you worked hard to get.

I'm pretty sure I've had villagers move out when I'd go on a long hiatus... And none of those times did anyone come up and tell me they were moving. They were simply gone when I came back.

Did they come up to you the day before you took your hiatus and ask?

If you really see yourself NEVER going back to the game, like never ever for the rest of your life, you could probably just give your stuff away. If you feel like you might come back to it at one point in the future, just keep everything. Personally if it were me and I were taking a break from the game for a while, I'd hate to risk losing any villagers I like... so me being me, I'd probably write down the date it was in my game when I last played and change the date back to that when I next play to make sure I don't lose anyone or anything.

Well, that's what I'd do anyway... I guess it's up to you.

If you might play again it would be nice just to keep your stuff! c= You don't want to start playing and have nothing you liked anymore~
You can always sell/ giveaway items if you end up deciding you don't wanna play! c=

If you might pick it back up and don't want to give away all your villagers and stuff and want to keep the villagers you have (maybe they're dreamies) go find a move out now and deny it, then you can stop playing and if you ever decide to pick it back up some day, load up on a new character first and see if anyone is missing or in boxes. If they are TT back using your 3ds clock a few days or to the date you last played if you want to go back that far, then check again. If they are back/not in boxes load up with your mayor, find whoever left and go stop them from moving then save quit and TT with the 3DS clock back to the current date in one big jump and you should still have all your villagers. I've heard of this method but never tried it.
