so, you have all your dreamies and are content with your terraforming...what do you do to continue playing the game?

I feel like I will never be content with my island, not because of the fact I think it's incomplete, but I always find new ways to improve upon something that's already there. I think for me, it's about looking for areas and things you could change - because I think if it gets to the point where you think there's nothing else to do, then I know some would consider restarting - which makes sense.

For me, I'd rather just take my time and use each new day to think of something better to improve what's already on my island :)

For me right now, I sick of the layout, though it's not a bad layout. Part of me feels like it's too modernized right now, and is missing the emptiness and forest feel of past AC games. I'm stuck between feeling satisfied, and not feeling satisfied. It sucks the game auto-saves, because there is no way I can experiment without destroying my months of hard work. It would be nice if I could experiment with some terraforming ideas, and then soft-reset when I'm done to undo everything.

I like to try and collect everything, refurbish my house and maybe get new villagers for new faces. Also redo my entire island if I'm satisfied with it and it has had the same look to it for a while, challenge myself to do themes and such. I couldn't restart my progress but some people do. It's mostly finding new ways I can enjoy the game, I also find helping people a fun part of the game.

If I really can't think of a way to enjoy the game once I've completed it I take a break, eventually I'll come back to it and it will be fun again :)

i like the theme idea

I created a second profile last night to take advantage of those NPCs that only visit once every two weeks. You could create another character and roll through Nook Miles achievements, house upgrades, etc. It's going to be a grind whether you start over or not, may as well not lose everything in the process.

I'm content with my terraformed island and villagers, and don't TT, but would never throw away 600+ hours and a completed-except-for-seasonal-and-zodiac recipe book.

i restarted my island after completing mine but i tend to start again on all my completed games lol
For some reason I’m so scared of restarting my game just because I feel like I put so much energy into my whole island and getting all the characters (even though I’m not done yet) so I’m afraid that I will feel frustrated if I restart the game by having to go through everything all over again!

i think the only thing that bothered me was losing things i donated to the museum since mine was almost full and losing my friendship level with raymond and katt
but if i was able to do those things within a few months i'll be able to do them again

i was just really unhappy with my island since i didn't have a proper theme and it was all a mess and i'm so glad i did start again because i do have a theme now and my new island's looking way better than my previous one

Collect everything for the museum and get all your villager pictures. Then move them out for new faces. Pay off your house loan completely. Play the turnip market. Collect items for your catalog.

Bonus challenge: collect all the bug and fish models without trading for them.

I'm nowhere near that point but a huge goal I have is to complete the museum. I don't time travel so that will take me at least a year. I also just enjoy talking to my villagers, decorating my house, and seeing what's new every day.

I don't know. I haven't gotten that far into the game yet.

I haven't finished anything yet. I am taking it pretty slow and am still enjoying the game. I have a habit of restarting any game I haven't played in a while, doesn't matter which one it is. This will likely be the fate of ACNH when it gets to that point, but I don't think that will happen any time soon

Hadn’t finished lately, but if I do, I might demolish everything and start again or be a completionist.

I haven't gotten there yet, but when I did on New Leaf I just bought a new copy.. unfortunately you can't really do that with the Switch unless you want to buy an entirely new console :/ That's why I've been moving REALLY slowly with completing my town .

I made a new profile. Not only can I have something new to design, but I can also complete the encyclopedia for that one or work on collecting the stamps.
