Hey guys, recently I was visiting a town for an RV but the connection dropped. I did everything by the book.. paid them bells, didn't run, and waited patiently, but the connection was really bad. I'm new to this site and I know there may be a different atmosphere from ACC but after I let the user know I tried to revisit but couldn't and apologized because I no longer wanted to trade I was met with a "Well then you know what? Dont bother coming back!"

lol So my first question is
1. Is this more of a normal behavior on this site since there are more freedoms, or was it just a unfortunate interaction on my first day?
2. If this user was to give me a bad rating because of their faulty connection is there anything I can do about it?

also this may not be the right thread sorry :(
I'm venting but I also want to be prepared for the change of atmosphere :)))))))

I'll tell you this community is really nice. Sounds like you ran into a rare grade a jerkhole.

If they did that I'd mail a mod BTW

I reported it just for caution. It would totally be my luck to get a bad rating on the first day after achieving absolutely nothing.

This is my favorite forum I've been on. I spent tons of time on Town of Salem Forum before this) so yeah, this community is nicer. Maybe it is because of the people the game appeals to.

Ok, well I won't worry about it too much then. It was just a "surprising" incident to say the least.

Yeah I've never actually had someone act like that to me here and I've traded a lot. Maybe it was because you haven't built up a WiFi rating yet. Either way not a kind way for them to act.

sheesh, how rude :( it's very rare to encounter users like that on here. alot of us on The Bell Tree are very nice and polite, i'm really sorry you ran into someone like that!
also, if they were to give you a negative rating, you wouldn't be able to do anything about it unfortunately. but you can always give the user you visited a negative rating to warn others about your experience

They really should think about fixing that and having a way for unfair ratings to be fixed

Everyone I've met here so far have been lovely. I really do believe this is a great community; very friendly and easy to get involved with.

I wish you could've had a better experience but I'm sure it was just an unlucky, rare occurence. I've had the same connection difficulties in the past but everytime the host was understanding and patient.

Also, welcome to the forums!

Thanks you guys for being understanding I think I just needed the reassurance. If a problem does arise I guess I can just refer people to my ratings on ACC and hope for the best. :)

Definitely not the typical demeanor of users here! Most of the people here are so nice! But with that, there is a few exceptions no matter where you are. I'm sorry that happened!!

Hi! Sorry you experienced that. I would definitely message a mod and send them that link. Maybe even take screenshots before they edit that out. Hopefully they can help with the WiFi rating. :3

hopefully, this will be the last unfortunate experience you have :) enjoy your time on The Bell Tree!

Wow. That was very rude. It's best that you don't interact with someone like that anyway. I have most of the figure amiibo's., including Nook. You're more than welcome to visit them anytime for free.

I've had one rude experience here but all my other ones were very pleasant.

Person came to my town for signatures. But kept criticizing my town and calling my villagers stupid. His conversation towards me was also belittling .

Like the others, I'm sorry to hear that you've had a bad experience. We never want things to go sour between users, whether in-game or in interactions on the forum itself. I'm doubly sorry that this seems to have happened to you on your first day on the forums, but I can assure you that most members here are very pleasant and that this was very likely a one off.

That being said, this thread is teetering on the edge of public blacklisting, which is something we try to avoid. If and when you receive a negative Wi-Fi rating or things continue even after you've stopped responding to the person, myself or another staff member will be glad to step in and help. Our Contact the Staff board is where you'll want to go if this happens, and just give us all relevant information/links when creating your thread.

Thanks, and feel free to PM me personally if you have any other questions or concerns!
