Oooh, When I have my town Dream Address ready... I should start thinking about that. It really helps set the mood, especially if your town has a certain theme.
I try to keep it in 1am, but the last time I updated it wound up being a few minutes away from 2. I'm tempted to update a little while before the Alien Broadcast time for Halloween.
Mine is usually between 4pm and 5pm. I really like the ACNL afternoons, they're so peaceful, and the 4pm/5pm music is relaxing. I'd love to update during a pink/purple evening sky for a change in the future.
I don't try for any certain time, I just update whenever I play. It's at night most of the time, but sometimes I update in the late afternoon. I know towns usually look better during the day, but I do have an illuminated tree, so that's a small consolation for dream visitors who visit a nighttime Forest.
My first town, LalaLand, I believe is set sometime in the afternoon before dusk... I need to set it to nighttime after I sell all my stuff laying out on the ground and update my DA.
I don't have a DA for Zephyr (my second town) yet, but I'll probably set it for daytime for right now (when I unlock it).
My main is 8PM during a meteor shower! I haven't updated it in ages, but my goal is to have everything prepped for November and then choose either an early morning or late evening time so all the oranges and reds in the flowers and trees really pop.
