Hi! I will be making a catalog shop soon and I was wondering how i should do the thread. I don't know prices of anything in TBT, so i need help with that, I'll do a delivery/ pickup thing, and have rules as to being in my town. Are there other things I should consider? Shop-keepers, how did you get people to come to your shop?

Make your thread organized, to the point and attractive to the eye. Make it easy for people to find items they can buy and make it easy to order. Some people have threads that are packed with waaaay too much pointless text and it clutters the thread. Or their forms are too confusing to fill out. Make it idiot proof lmao.

For prices, you could read other people's threads to see what the average rate is or you could let people offer prices as they order.

You could add your timezone and perhaps even the times you are online and ready to deliver? Definitely rules about how to behave in your town, how many items you can order, refunds or no refunds if no response from customer over a period of time (if applicable).

That's all I can think of!

Pretty much what Corrie said really;

Look at other shops for ideas, which shops get most buyers? take that into consideration when you're making yours. Cheap/reasonable prices (especially at first), organisation, abundance of items, not too many confusing rules, attractive design, etc. all draw in buyers!

For prices, definitely spend time stalking re-tail to get an idea! if not, just go for what you think is reasonable and see how it works out! If it's common items, setting your prices a little lower than most shops, and setting your prices a little higher for rare and sought-after items is probably a good move! I'd don't run a shop, although I might in the future, this is just my observations I've picked up as a shopper (lmao).

Anyway, good luck with your shop!~

Not a long post that goes on and on and on, make it short and quick and state the rules clearly and quickly.

How should I present my catalog for people to easily find what they need? I was thinking of using MoriDB, but i don't know if thats a good idea or not? Please help

When it's really organized and not shabbily put together, it grabs people's attention and gives them a good time for looking at what you have to offer and easier to find things between categories/sections too. I always enjoy a good-well made shop of any kind, but for sure it's not all about looks, just gotta find a way to catch people's attention xD

Keep your post sorted out, you can use the tags you can click on to collapse/expand. If you want to use MoriDB, make different lists for different sets or item types.

I do not have a full catalog, but now that i'll have a reason to, i'll try to make it full

Do you have any orderable items left? You don't have to aim to complete it for your shop, just all the items that you can order for your buyers (and you can borrow items from people to have them catalogued).

If you have most items, maybe you can just note which ones you don't have.

i actually have a ton of orderables to catalog, i don't usually buy furniture to complete the catalog, only to complete my house. It's gonna be a while until i actually get the full catalog, but i'm trying now so i have more for people to buy
