What theme is your town?

My main is a Pokemon town based on the anime and manga (with a few elements from the games). All of my villagers are based on Pokemon the trainers have (all four of my humans in town are trainers from the anime and manga). The houses are heavy with references to the franchise and there's plenty of PWPs and paths that connect as well. I'm super content with my town. :)

My second town is currently a work in progress, but it's meant to be a Latin-American and warm type of town. I'm still working on the logistics and have a few areas finished. I'm not sure if I'll ever this town tbh. I'm pretty burnt out from my first town after 2 years. I can't seem to find a way to implement this second town well enough so it's very likely I'll keep it as a casual town but have some flair to it.

My town is an overgrown zen forest with a mystical-ish feel. It's still a big WIP and I can't wait until it's finished!

Foresty-Tropical-Mountainy-Park???
It just is, I wish I had a set theme besides not-cliche. :lemon:

Most of the time, I have a forest-ish theme. I tried to use other themes, like a horror one for example.
However, I always end up with the forest one, probably because it's the easiest one to make and also
the one which I'm use to. Maybe I will try to use another theme in my new town once I have some
inspirations for it.

Both of my towns are works in progress, Orchid being the most developed at the moment. Orchid is very pastel-y and majestic, definitely very princessy and fairy tale-esque. Thyme is gonna be a witchy and enchanted forest town.

The new town I am planning, Hiemili, is going to be a fairytale forest town inspired by the movie and real life story of Anastasia Nikolaevna. The character names are Eastern European, though, and the town name is the Icelandic word for "Home" because Icelandic is the closest language associated with the ancient Norse language and it doesn't get much fairytale than that to me. I am, however, planning on naming one of the male characters Dimitri after Anastasia's love interest in the movie. That's pretty much as far as the similarities go, though, since the game decided we can't have a name longer than 8 characters -_-

I am so happy you have a Beardo profile picture, and you also appreciate the Icelandic language. ;o;

I would love to visit your town. If you can provide your DA through a pm/vm/or even post it through your signature, that would be great! You should really let everyone see your town. It is an amazing unique idea!! :)

Now for my town, I have chose a desert theme, mostly because I do not like stray hybrids and obnoxious gyroid pits in the ground. Plus my villagers stay in one place ? all the time!

My town definitely fits in the overgrown zen forest category but it is primarily mysterious and magical!
It's originally modeled after a cemetery so there are grave sites and bones in certain areas of town but it also maintains its diversity. My town is basically complete now, too! I just have to finish one last room in my house along with a few more landscaping things I want to try out. I'm still so excited about my town!!! And I totally want to start a second town as well.

I'm not sure how to name it, maybe you could say I have a Nordic theme in my town.

My town is called Sogndal, which is a little town in Norway, surrounded by mountains. I'm getting only villagers who has wooden, cabin-like house exteriors, and I'm currently having 4/10 of them (almost half way, yay!). And I'll make my own house look like a cabin too, both inside and outside.
I'm going to use very natural PWPs, for example camping site of course, fire pit, log benches, classic police station, suspension/wooden bridges, stonehenge... Something like that. I have a lot to do still, my town isn't ready at all. But I'll try to enjoy working on it, I feel I'm in no hurry.
I didn't decide if I have only certain colored flowers. I'll try to grow all kinds of hybrids and maybe decide later which ones I will use. Jacob's Ladders are perfect for my theme for sure. I must also decide if I'll pick a natural path QR which I will use, or should I make paths myself (I mean running around and destroying grass).

But yeah, that's my vision!

It sounds like a wonderful town idea! Maybe start with patterns then after some time pull them up and finish wearing in the natural pathways?

As for the theme of CocoaMew, it's very much a park-like community. It's going to to have quaint little neighborhoods, a thriving shopping district with a boutique and a restaurant, a picturesque campgrounds, and many well-landscaped areas. So far I've got part of the wealthy neighborhood done and the waterfront is simply stunning :)

I like your idea, I will do that! Thank you!

I like your town theme too! I got very excited, especially when you mentioned those quaint little neighbourhoods! That's a very awesome and unique idea! How are you going to do that, just plot resetting as many times as they'll form tiny communites? Good luck with building your town, or is it almost ready already?

I'm taking advantage of the fact that homes pretty much only spawn in places without patterns now, so I started by placing my roads, then worked with the open spaces I had to set up areas that I want my villager to be. From there it was just dropping patterns through the rest of the town where I don't want them to be. I still do the new player trick to make 100% sure that any newcomers are where I want them to be, however it doesn't take nearly as long now to get someone moved in :)

Here's an example of what I'm taking about btw. The blue is the "buffer" area a 3x3 house needs, the pink-red is the forced blank spot in front of the door, and the yellow is there to prevent someone from building in that exact spot. That way once I pick up a dreamie from the Villager Trade thread, I can kick up the yellow pattern in the space I want them to go and they should end up there.

I'm still pretty early on in the development as I currently have villagers sitting on pathways or in other bad spots. My hope is to have it all done by summer :)

Wow! That's impressive! I hope that tactic works for you, because it would absolutely look so nice if you had these little neighbourhoods! You gotta share your Dream Address once you get it!

I don't usually go for something that's heavily themed. If anything, it's probably somewhere between country and modern themed.
