About a month ago, I did a villager trade with someone on this forum. I was trading my villager X for their villager Y. They adopted X first because Y wasn't in boxes at the time. After that, they said they were going to TT Y out of their town so I could adopt them. Since X had left my town, I only had 8 villagers and needed to adopt another one, so I adopted their (same person) villager Z for 100 tbt. (they had to go to sleep right then, and I was worried that I might not be able to villager reset in time to adopt Y the next day.)

They messaged me again 3 days later, saying that Y was in boxes. I wasn't online at the time, and later that day they sent me another message saying Y had been accidentally voided. Two days later I visited their town to try to pick Y up from the void, but she never moved in. The person I was trading with said they could give me 50 (not 100) tbt from when I bought Z back, which I declined and asked if they could buy me Y in auction or something. They said they would try, but I haven't heard from them in 2 weeks.

So, what should I do? idk if I should message them again because they might have just been busy so that would be rude

Maybe it's time to accept a partial/full refund? That's what I would aim for if I were in this situation, but maybe trying to exit yourself from whoever this is would be a good idea. I don't know who the person is personally, but from what you said, it doesn't seem like their intentions were impure or anything. I guess these sort of dilemmas happen from time to time ><.

A little strange that they would only offer half of the TBT back... did the person spend it? It depends on how the person responded, that will determine what attitude you should show to this person. Because the person took the time to allow you to try and get it from the void, I assume they have good intentions. I don't think it is rude to message them again, especially not after 2 weeks... it's not like you are spamming. Good luck, the best way to resolve it is to just talk with the person. And if all else fails... take the half-refund.
