Bulk crafting and clothing buying are the most common ones I see mentioned (and I thoroughly agree). And a way to access storage outside of the house.
I would really like for the island development mode to allow you to pick up flowers and pumpkins instead of having to dig them up. Why would I be trying to pick the flowers when I am terraforming? This seems like such an obvious overlooked feature. I would also like a new tool in development mode that allows you to just delete plants and trees.
It would also be nice if map mode told you where villagers are. You could click on their portrait to locate them.
One thing that would make the game much less tedious for me is if Nook's let you sell items straight from your storage (only catalogue rebuyable items, of course). Maybe for half the price they would normally buy for?
Oh, and some indication when buying items that I had catalogued them before would save me so much hassle.
I'd like Isabelle to tell me which NPCs are visiting my island, and maybe give a weather report than her missing sock. I was okay with her small talk announcements at first but they are a bit too long.
It'd be nice if visitors could use the drop off box too while on another's island or just a place to store their findings like Kapp'ns cooler box/basket in acnl. They should be able to use the ABD too.
It would really help me if there was a separate storage for flowers , trees and bushes. I really don’t want to sell or delete them. I like all of the flowers and use them for crafting. Some of them like the pink cosmos don’t go with a fall theme, so being able to store them would be better.
Also storing crafting materials in the workbench would be nice. I almost always forget to take something out of storage to craft something. It would be nice to see all your crafting materials while you craft.
The ability to request to have a bridge/incline built at the same time as having one destroyed (or rather the ability to choose to have them moved). I am currently trying to New Leaf-ify my island, and I am having to destroy multiple inclines right now just to be able to build the main street area..
and there is one incline I wish I could just request to have moved to another location, but sadly I will have to destroy an incline, then wait till 0500 the following day, then request to have another incline built in the spot where I want this new incline.
Also the ability to have a "closet" where all of our clothing goes, so they don't take up the space in the house's storage. I have so many outfits, and I can barely store even furniture in my home storage anymore... I'd have to guess that 70% of my storage is clothing, 28% is materials, and 2% are a mix between the other sections... which sucks, because I really wanna be able to store more furniture.
Multiple crafting option, useful for bait and crafting multiple hot items. It's such a chore to mash A constantly and go through all the text boxes
Add multiple items to cart at Ables/Nooks.
Locker & ADB feature like New Leaf for online play. I want to be able to access my storage and money on another person's island. I'm fine with wardrobes being used as what it is now, but maybe there could be a specific locker item introduced for the accessible storage.
Closing your gate from your Nookphone instead of at the airport. Sometimes I forget to do this when the last visitor leaves and I'm somewhere far off thinking I can terraform but no, I have to run to the airport and close the gate!
Seeing your online visitors location on the minimap just like you can see our own. This could maybe be a toggle on/off feature but it would be useful to have, especially if you have multiple guests.
There's probably a ton more I'm forgetting but these are the things that inconvenience me the most since launch. I kinda agree with the flower thing too but I'm already pretty used to digging them up now.
They need to let us fast forward or skip dialogue we've already seen.
I actually never bother helping Gulliver, and get his items on Nookazon, because it just takes so darn long to start the quest, and don't even get me started on Dodo Airlines dialogue...
I think the only thing I'd really, really like is bulk crafting (especially fish baits), and bulk shopping where I can choose the number of items (so not pick between 1 or 5, but purchase 3 or 10 depending on how many I want). Those don't really 'change' the game: You still have to go to a workbench or shop to buy/craft stuff, it only skips a massive amount of dialog that's always the same.
Anything else would probably change the game mechanics a little too much for me. Part of the fun of the game for me is running around in search of villagers or doing other tasks, and planning things like landscaping by chopping down trees and getting rid of flowers if needed. I wouldn't want all of that on my NookPhone, the game would become too much like real life XD.
When I'm running around my island looking for a specific villager for example, I often encounter other villagers doing cute stuff, a rare butterbly, a big fish shadow... I might miss part of that if I can find a villager on the NookPhone and skip the running around the island.
And access to your storage outside of your house just sounds like bigger pockets to me, and to be honest while I could use another 10 or so spaces of pocket inventory, the idea of a 'storage' for me is that you don't always have access to it. Pockets = direct access everywhere, storage = only accessible in certain places, like your home. That's a mechanic that I think goes for a lot of games that I play (Stardew Valley and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon come to mind first), and I've learned not to mind it. It often adds a dimension to a game of planning and making preparations, which I have come to like.
To be totally fair though, I put a mini-fridge outside for easy-clothes changing, so if there would be a special item that allowed easy access to storage space, I'd probably use it... I just don't think of it as a quality of life change.
Some consistency when picking up and placing furniture. Sometimes I'm right in front of something and the game picks up everything else first even when the target item is closer. But when placing furniture, you can't even be two pixels off.
Also please prioritize items over picking flowers.
Bulk item crafting is one that i’d like to see. Plus Isabelle actually mentioning what villagers are on my island would help, since hearing about her losing a sock or her favourite tv show gets old quick.
I would appreciate in the ables, maybe having a shopping basket mechanic to put in clothes. So you could put in multiple tops, trousers etc. So you don’t have to leave and re-enter the dressing room every time.
I also wish the spawn rate of flowers when it rains gets nerfed slightly. I’m slightly getting fed up of digging up rogue flowers when my town decides to pour it down. But it’s just a personal things.
I also kinda hope that the villagers did a little more. Like invite you to play games of hide and seek or a card game like they do in the campsite. It’s a simple mechanic which would add more like to the characters then repeating the same lines. (As someone who has 4 lazy’s, hearing about their bug collection 4 times a day... it’s annoying.)
flowers. they're just so annoying to deal with in this game, and they take x100 times longer to clean up after a rainy day bc u can't just pick them up.
I also agree w the other suggestions about villager dialogue. like they should've just kept it the way it was in NL. I preferred WW's dialogue but we know they're not gonna revert back to those days aha.
and lastly being able to buy more than just one outfit at a time when you're in the Able Sisters fitting room.
Does having more pattern slots count as quality of life? I ask because I'm always stressed out trying to figure out which ones I should keep and having more would be very nice. I only have 2 left and I don't know what I'm going to do after that : (
If not, I think we should be able to buy at least 10 items at a time from the Nooklings / Leif instead of 5, or be able to put in the number we want to buy up to 99, or even just 50. That would be great!
I also miss breeding flowers on the beach :^( that was a great way to keep them out of the way while breeding them. But at the same time, it's nice being able to store unwanted flowers there without them multiplying. Still, I think I would prefer beach breeding again! (And like others have said, I wish there was an easier way to get rid of flowers. I just don't know how it would work though.)
Lastly, I wish we could order 10 things a day. And I do miss getting your delivery midday as well!
edit: oh yeah, and being able to store DIYs. What's up with that anyway? I don't understand why they have to just be dropped on the ground.
Flowers:
Introduce some sort of tool to dispose of flowers directly, like a sickle or garden gloves.
DIYs:
Nook and Isabelle can send DIYs through their nook phone. Why cant we do that?
Or let us buy bottles to put recipes in and throw them back in tge ocean. ANYTHING!
If you're going to push online, at least make it convenient!
Other than that, I wish the shops would tell you if you already have an item catalogued or even if it's in your storage, kinda like how the DIY menu does it.
Definitely deleting monotonous dialogue and including bulk crafting/buying would improve the game a lot. Isabelle, Mabel and Orville's dialogue could be cut back a lot and it would help speed up everything. And Leif, why can you only buy 1 or 5? Why not have an option for quantity? It can't be that hard to program as it's existed for years.
Outside of the many requested and mentioned ones, an option to turn off the music and toggle the sounds would be nice. The waterfalls are way too loud.
