What public works project last surprised you?

I was visiting dream towns recently when I came across the instruments shelter. When I found out about this PWP, I thought it was something meant for musical instruments, which to me seemed useless since I do not see villagers carrying around instruments*.

... Yeah. Anyways, clueless Zulehan aside, a dream town helped me realize the structure was housing weather instruments, and that it gives you a forecast when opened with (I believe) a hatch from the north side. (Initially tried to open it from the west side and got a message saying you cannot open it from here.)

Oh! Then there was the Zen clock I built, which apparently has a mechanical bird come out and chirp at every hour (if I correctly remember), if you are standing next to it when the hour strikes.

So anyways, anyone else recently surprised by the function of a PWP?

* Idea! Villagers carrying musical instruments and playing them (while sitting on benches and stumps, while standing around or walking, and even while dancing) in the next AC.

I had the same initial thoughts about the instrument shelter! I was like, "Wait, what? Why would I want something like that in my town?" And I've actually never bothered to look up what it actually does, so thanks for informing me on that! Might add one to my town today if I can find a good place for it.

* Your idea for villagers carrying actual musical instruments is really cool too by the way

I never expected to love my lighted arches so much! I have two of them with path running through them and a bench near by ... Even my villager peeps comment on them! Lol They are especially pretty at night!

Anyway, like Pennifer, I really loved my illuminated PWP's so much! I knew I'd like them, but not LOVE them.

I haven't seen that Public Works Project in question yet, or anything that really surprised me (I have visited a lot of dream towns, but I tend to go randomly and they're usually pretty new towns). I'll be keeping an eye out for that one, though!

I didn't know this! That was one of my first Public Works Projects in my town! I've never seen the bird, but now I'm going to be looking for it upon the next hour. Thanks for the heads up!

I saw the instrument shelter in one of the trailers for NL, and I thought it was a beehive. For months. I like it because I want to make my dream town a rainy one so it makes finding a rainy hour a little easier, but... I still wish it was for beekeeping. ;_; I want honey!

the fairytale clock did the same thing and it actually scared me a little because I was just sitting here with the game beside me scrolling tumblr and suddenly I heard the weird sounds of the clock go off and I was like waitwhat but by the time I looked it already went back in. I really kinda want the modern clock though because when it becomes whatever'o clock it lights up into some rainbow portal thing in the middle! so rad ;-;

one time though I was at my friend's place and I think it was that colorful ball thing, jungle gym and I think it moved when i touched it once and that startled me and then I kept doing it for another minute and my friend just stared at me like "... weirdo."
(also I would be really scared to get on a jungle gym that SPUN like what)

I was surprised that you could actually sit on the chair sculpture. Apparently I hadn't realised you could sit on a chair.
