I've been toying with the idea of FINALLY coming into this generation (hopefully before the next gen consoles come out in 2 weeks time xD), and I've just seen a few things that have pushed me to get it; Final Fantasy/X-2 HD Remaster and Kingdom Hearts 1.5. I've been aware of these before, but I've stumbled upon the trailers x3x The reason I never got a PS3 like 4 years ago is simple. I was very much in love with my PS2 and didn't like that the PS3 wasn't backwards compatible :I And I liked my memory card tyvm :I And and and there's never any games for a new console x3x But now the PS4 is coming out, I have a plethora of games to choose from (most dirt cheap now, kehehehe), and cheap consoles. However... PS2 had Playstation 2 and PS2, the PS2 being the slim model. That's it. I got the fat one I love it even now xD The PS3? I've just learned there's 3 consoles with different GB's on them?! x3x So here's where I come to you lovely people. I've just read somewhere that the initial PS3 is a waste of time, as is the latest one and the Slim is the one to go for. This info. was a year old mind you.

Asda (my local supermarket and place of work, meaning I get a 10% discount when I shop there, hence the choice of store xD) gives me 4 options; PS3 500GB Slim, PS3 500GB Slim + GTA 5, PS3 12GB Slim, PS3 500GB Slim + Beyond Two Souls. Out of those, I'm looking at the first two. The price difference between the 500GB and the 12GB is about ?80 ($130 ish), pushing me to the 500GB... Aaaand I'd MUCH rather have GTA5 then BTS xD I'd be buying GTA anyway. Click here for the link to try and make some sense of what I've just vomited onto my screen.

Help? x3x I'm thinking 500gb, especially seeing as GTA takes up 8GB just to install x3x That bundle would be ?220, ?198 with discount. Thinking about asking for half the money paid for Christmas and I'll use this month's wages to pay the other half, or do the same for my 21st... That's not until March mind you xD

Definitely go for one of the larger GB models, the 12 GB one is pitiful. Personally space isn't a big problem as you can change the hard drive out easily to up the space, but chances are you'll never fill up the 500GB to begin with. Aim for one of the bundles so you get a game with it.

I think I'll be going for the 500GB with GTA5. I spoke to some of the boys in work today and they agreed. I've got it to about ?150 from ?220 anyway due to various rewards from work and stuff, so it seems to be the best bet. The game alone is like ?40 x3x

^ That's probably a good one to get. PS3 games have the mandatory installs, and if you plan to buy a bunch of games for it, you'll want the space. It's also a good price.

Personally, I don't really use my PS3 that much for gaming. I use it mostly as a BluRay player. So I have one of the first models of the "slim" version, that has only a 160GB hard drive. The PS3 lets you remove and replace the hard drive though. I have built computers. I have no problem installing a new hard drive if I ever need to. I bought it when the slim version first came out, so there wasn't really much other options, like you have now.
