Johto for me, first of the Pokemon games I really connected to. And I absolutely loved the Gold remake <3 I was kinda bummed when B/W and X/Y didn't feature the Pokemon following you anymore.
I'm a Hoenn guy, my first game was Sapphire. I spent countless hours playing it, but it eventually got deleted since it was a bootleg cartridge. I was able to buy a legit one a few years back though and it is my most prized game possession. Every time I play Hoenn or hear the music, I am taken back to my childhood. I am also very excited for the remakes as I have been waiting for them for the past 3 years
I remember that I chose Treecko as my starter. I was really young then so I though nicknames are just shorter versions of the names I was supposed to nickname him Treec, but the c got omitted somehow so it became Tree. Also at that time, I didn't really know about the weaknesses and all so I just used Leaf Blade on everything. I actually had a hard time in the league despite having a Lv. 86 Sceptile because of getting stuck at Victory Road for too long. I also remembered killing Kyogre because my friend killed Groudon. So my first legendary was Rayquaza and it has been one of my faves ever since.
Kanto♡
Pokemon Red was my first Pokemon game. Second was Blue. Third was Yellow. Kanto was special to me growing up and I'll never forgot my first pokemon adventure. So many times I threw my Gamboy against the wall. It was a love hate relationship.
Hoenn. Don't even know why, just had an atmosphere to it that is tough to explain; the tranquility of Verdanturf... The coast near Petalburg... Quiet forested areas of Oldale and Littleroot with a friendly feel to it all... Coasts of Dewford and Slateport, mysteries of the abandoned ship... Crossing that body of water to route 118, rain, new and fantastic music, the old coot Feebass...
Hoenn was just such a memorable region, and I am quite looking forward to seeing it all in 3D.
After that I wouldn't be able to decide between Sinnoh, Johto, or Kanto. Johto and Kanto are just a magnet train ride away, so enjoy the best of both worlds when you go on vacation. Sinnoh has that diverse environment, a seemingly temperate midsection, with the warmth of Sunyshore City, a winter wonderland in the north, the battle frontier in the deserts of the Battle Area, great Pokemon League, CYNTHIA.
All of the regions have their favorable conditions, beauty and country sides in Kalos, hustle and bustle of Castelia City and the Skyarrrow Bridge in Unova. Really, you couldn't go wrong with any of them. xD
