What normal things can you not see the same way after playing AC?

My parents are growing pumpkins at their allotment so I naturally thought they should be crafted into spooky furniture rather than eating them.

At a local park, they have all kinds of ideas for things kids can do with sticks, again I thought about making nets and rods!

Am I the only one?

Hah.ahah.hahaha..... hahah. hah.

uhm.
i'm not quite as addicted to NH as i once was but i can relate in some sense - i used to l o v e BOTW and whenever i saw a large cliff or hill i was like "well, i can just PARAGLIDE down it!!!" xD

Front lawn decoration.

If I'm driving in the passenger seat, I legitimately look out the window and look at people's front lawn and am like "Oh, interesting, maybe I could use that for my town" or like "Oh dang, that's not so good, I'd do something else, myself." and, despite that, I don't actually do anything with my own front yard in real life but, y'know... I do look at this stuff differently now XD

  • Wooden furniture with metal accents... I immediately see the ironwood set!
  • How different real life flowers look from the game version (especially mums, absolutely tiny irl).
  • Seeing something in person, and start planning interior design ideas while wishing I actually could craft it.

This more of a result of playing the series as a whole, especially growing up with it in my formative years, but whenever I see a bug, fish or painting in real life I always think back to how I obtain them in Animal Crossing and what Blathers had to say about it.

Partly AC, but more so since the BellTree fair, I can't stop checking what kind of clouds are in the sky and get excited when they are the big fluffy white ones.

Also sometimes I want to time travel irl.... before I realize I can't change the date.

I'm always looking at items on TV or wherever, like plants, and thinking we had that plant in NL, or that sofa would look good in my house.

Whenever I shake a tree, I expect it to drop stuff. Turns out it's tremendously difficult to exert enough force to make it happen.

My neighbourhood has alot of old houses with eclectic decorations. It always makes me think of Animal Crossing!

Was literally talking about this with my best friend the other day. After playing ACNH, I will always look at hard rubbish piles and think about how I can customise items to make them look like new again. Unlike my rep, I’m not “handy” at all unfortunately.

(I’m not sure if it’s an Aussie/Kiwi-only term so let me explain: hard rubbish is unwanted items - usually furniture - that people put in front of their houses which are later taken by council workers to the dump. Anything is up for grabs before it’s taken away! Yesterday there was a news story in my city - Melbourne - about someone putting an unused coffin out for hard rubbish lol)

Plants.

I noticed it when I was the mayor in New Leaf. I would be the passenger riding through a neighborhood and be like "🧐 hmmmm... I could for sure plan the trees and flowers out better than this. these trees are too close! who did this?" Plants are the thing that have changed me the most. I was at my old apartment a few years ago, and I was able to identify an azalea bush as it bloomed. I was so excited, you don't even know.

I moved into a new house last year that we're still furnishing and decorating, very slowly and on a budget. So I'm simultaneously working on my AC house and my irl house and sometimes I see stuff on sale and am like "oh I was looking for one of those!" And then, "wait, did I want a little wood stool for my house or in AC...? Either way, I'm putting a plant on it."
AC has been a good outlet while the irl house has been moving more slowly than I wanted. I also accidentally decorated my AC living room with the same palette I had been considering for my "home office" while I was setting that up, lol.

I'm starting to think my RL furniture looks weird because I haven't got any snapping turtles to put on it. :)

EVERYTIME on a show or irl theres a fish/bug/fossil that's in animal crossing, in a troll way I always say "ThATs FrOm AnIMaL CroSSInG".

and yes. I know animal crossing didnt create the bugs/fish etc.

I just realised that our "island representative" is full of gifted talents such as super strength, endless stamina, and a knack to learn stuff quickly than any human.

In reality, you can't even perform any of these feats yourself.
