I usually don't let my villagers nickname me, since I usually don't like what they call me. Sometimes they let me choose my nickanem. But Portia suggested the nickname "princess" and it's beginning to catch on with all of my villagers. It sounds so cute, and makes my mayor feel like a princess. I am modelling my house after a castle after all. It makes the male villagers sound super affectionate to my player and it's very cute. Some of them still call me odango though, which I made them call me because of sailor moon. My villagers sound like a bunch of cuties.
So far Sally is calling me "dearie" and Marshal is calling me "mon amie" - no one has asked to adopt either of these yet, or suggested other ones. If I don't like their suggestion I usually just stick some cute term of endearment in its place, but I'm cool with these two! I never liked ones that take the first letter of your name, like Super S or whatever; they feel pretty stilted and unnatural. I know, "unnatural" in a game full of animal villagers, but you know what I mean.
