It?s inevitable that AC will come to the Switch, and like everyone else I?m hoping they add in as much new stuff as they can. With that said, I?d love to see some new personality and animal species added. Here?s my idea; what about y?all? Let?s brainstorm and speculate on what could be! :)

Gloomy - Think of Eeyore from Winnie the Pooh; A natural pessimist who needs some encouragement to see the bright side of things. More prone to lose things and walk around in a funk until it?s returned. If the player is still able to build town projects, Gloomy would suggest things that would fit right in at Halloween time. Skeletons, Scary pumpkins, Large spider webs, spooky lampposts, etc.

Ohhh I’d love to see some gloomies! Great idea!
And as they get closer to the player, they could get more positive and sweet?

Here are my ideas:
Female villager: shy
They are very introverted and shy. Often they stay inside. They need a lot of time spending with the player to become more comfortable and outgoing. They blush easily and can be quiete awkward but they are really sweet and actually have a sarcastic sense of humor. Public work projects could be: a library, a greenhouse where you can grow veggies and flowery garden things :D

Make villagers: the nerds
Very nerdy villagers. Love technical stuff like computers, Machines etc. also into repairing stuff. Love learning new things. Often correct other villagers if they misuse a word/ meaning. They talk a looot about stuff only they understand. They also love science.
Public work projects would be science stuff, like models of planets, a huge telescope, a mini airport maybe, weird stuff like machnines :D

I love the idea of nerd villagers but I want them to be either male or female! That would actually be awesome if personalities weren't divided by gender.

Also I'd love a little Eeyore villager, or a goth one.

I agree, it could get too cliche. I would die to see a male snooty or a female cranky btw.

Invasive villagers. Personality type where they're a little too 'close' at times. Peppy, but way more annoying basically.

I'd love to see some introverted types, or even emo types, that would be awesome

I’m going to go unique here:

-Villagers who are aware that they are in a video game. Yeah you heard me. I want Deadpool level of villagers roaming in my town. The best part of these villagers is that they give you items you need or to complete a set, maybe even rares or non-ordereables. But the worst part of these villagers is that they’re kind of hard to befriend. Maybe they also have another personality ego such as being hysterical from the other villagers, making them hard to befriend them, and are more comedic. They would be male villagers but I’d prefer if it were both genders. If you are best friends one, they will ask if you have some errands to run. Tell them and they will do it for you, but they will only do errand one at a time. If it’s a villager in need of furniture, they will find furniture that fits their style. If it’s a lost item, they will find the owner for you. If it’s an item from a set you need, they will buy it for you. If it’s a hybrid you need, they will give it to you. These errands can be done once each per day, and after that, the villager will be tired and sleep early. These villagers are also useful for barging into other villagers’ conversations that could have started a fight. Also, they wear clothing that fits them and never wear qr clothing. Probably there would only be like 5 of these villagers due to how useful they are, and they are rare to find; not having an amiibo perhaps.

-Villagers who are emo-shy(both genders). The combination of being depressing and anti-social of a villager? Yes please. These villagers would likely not have a long conversation with the player and are really shallow at the first time meeting them. But as their friendship grows, the villager would likely reveal their normal face even more, eventually leading the player to think that they do have a “dark side”. As best friends, they will discuss about facing their fears and novels they read because they trust you with their stuff. They are actually really friendly. One wrong move and they get sad easily, even when you deny trading or selling, which doesn’t affect friendship. Most of the times, they are always in their house, but they stay awake the most out of all villagers.

-Jock female villagers. I’m starting to think that all personalities should have both genders. Wouldn’t it be cool to see a sporty gal in your town? Sure, jock villagers are the least favorites of this community but I’d like to see if they’d stop talking about sports for once. My tweaks on jocks would go like this: Early in the morning, they will talk about sports all the time, but later in the afternoon and night, they will discuss regular things and would care about your health, thus giving you medicine when you get stung and saying that “You shouldn’t jog with the bees.”. And like lazy villagers, they like to eat but on a balanced diet. They are very outgoing in events and would participate no matter what kind, and are very friendly towards the player if they have been outdoors for quite a while. They put the “bro”in “jabroni”.

-Snooty male villagers. This would fit Ed and Julian so well. Like the regular snooties, they talk about the latest fashion and hip scandals. But male villagers talk about different things apart from females. They would talk about fancy things such as high-priced furniture and tropical getaways. But like the snooty females, they also care about the player in a “big brother” kind of way. They would always say to the player to be careful and they also give medicine when stung by a bee. These villagers treat their gardens well and would give the player hybrids. They may also plant hybrids beside hybrids.

-Last but not the least, the naughty villagers (of both genders). All this friendliness is boring so why not add a villager who’s a clear opposite of normal villagers? I know they will be the least favorite of this community. I just have that feeling hehe. Anyways these villagers like I said, are the opposites of normal villagers. They are mean towards the player, they play pranks around town, always give fake paintings, and they have a messy outlook. Many other villager personalities despise this kind of villagers, but if they stay around town long enough, they would get used to them and thus making befriending much easier. Their pranks will be overlooked sometimes once they stay long enough, but the Lazy villagers would always be fooled. If the player befriends a naughty villager, they would talk about pranking someone. Of course, they have their upsides: these villagers request all kinds of pwps, even pwps requested from other personalities. And they will eventually show their soft side to you.

Invasive and to a lesser extent Nerdy sound a little too close to Smug. The Smugs bother me so it may be nice for them to split into those two. A more enthusiastic, pedantic nerdy character sounds very fun. I would make tech one of the possible things they can be enthusiastic about, like how villager interests already work.

Gloomy overlaps with Cranky but I can see the line drawn between "pessimist due to being older and traditional" from "pessimist due to being depressed". To furthur their distinction I'd have Gloomy be a bit of a doormat, and give them some neurotic qualities.

@ stiney and Berrymia Agreed! I have a Snooty male OC because one of my rabbits can be a jerk, but I wouldn't consider him like the Crankies.

Maybe a shy personality like the first post said. Also like a smug villager type that's female.
I also feel like all the cool characters are lazy, so maybe a new type to split them for more variety. Probably like a nerdy villager, like some said.

I'd like a hermit type.

One that will never feel the need to write to me, or drop in, uninvited.

Totally self sufficient.

Just a nod every now and then.
