First thing im just saying my idea so please no hating

so look I like playing SSB4 for both the wii u and the 3ds, I usually play as Villager but what would be cool if.

For anyone who has AC:NL there should be a code to be able to replace one of the villager skin and add his...

That would be cool and stuff but there is only one major problem

They have to import every single clothing, hats, and so on from animal crossing to SSB4
THATS A SUFFER!

That's pretty much the only thing I wish they did for the villager.

I don't think they would import 'ALL' the stuff from Animal Crossing, maybe just the 'code' for what you're currently wearing. I don't know how custom clothing would work though.

There must be a good reason to why they didn't do it though because it seems like such an obvious thing to do.

QR Code to import your outfit/look from AC:NL to Villager in SSB4 would be the easiest way to do it.

While this is an absolutely amazing idea.. I can see a fair few reasons why Nintendo didn't do this:

1. Every character in the game has 8 palette-swap options (with the exception of Little Mac, who has 16) - each character is designed to have a distinct "look" which is mostly the same throughout the palette-swaps.
2. Some of the AC items available would alter the look of the character too much, and would give the character a larger appearance, giving the illusion of a larger hitbox - attacks would go through the large clothing points without hitting, which would cause a bit of hitbox dissonance there. Case in point: the King Tut Wig.
3. The Villager's design in Sm4sh is his AC:WW design*. This design does not have alterable leg clothing, nor does it have different sleeve lengths.
4. The devs would have to create extra models for each of the AC:NL items, which would overstuff an already jam-packed game. There's a reason that there's very limited clothing options for the Mii Fighters.
5. You can wear custom pattern designs. Patterns are.. surprisingly data-heavy, in comparison to the normal clothing options. There's a reason you can only "equip" 10 patterns at a time in AC:NL. This could cause save files to become rather bloated, especially when dealing with many replays.

* For those who say that it should actually be his AC:GC design.. in AC:GC, weren't you always forced to wear a hat? I definitely don't see Sm4sh Villager wearing a hat.

While this is a pretty awesome idea.. I can't see it happening.

4 and 5 are likely the reasons.

Looking at some of the Mii clothing options, I can't really see the reason being the hitbox (aside from a few OTT items in AC)

I don't think it needs that. The fact they gave us the eye selections is enough for me. You could always change your clothes to the Smash Bros shirts in your ACNL and work it out that way even if that's kinda silly.

OMG Reason 5, I was unaware why we were always only able to hold 10 designs. Thought it was just restrictions for nothing.

This. If they could do it, they would do it.

Same. Then again they did say "surprisingly" :p

Not possible, but I wish it was. This is the villager from AC:WW, there's totally different clothes now. But, when AC for Wii U comes out, we'll already have HD models for the current villager. Which means it's very possible that the most recent villager could be included as a skin, which takes us a step closer to your suggestion.

Chances are they're not going to reuse the Smash Bros models for AC WiiU. They've rarely if ever used the same exact models unless it was in a trophy. Mario in Brawl is not the same Mario in Galaxy. Nor are any of the others.

Yeah, especially considering that the NL villager is taller and has longer limbs than the Smash Villagers, which seem to be based off of City Folk.
