I was wondering what do you guys think makes animal crossing fun for you? Like why do you play it? I play it because I love simulation games and its just super addicting

it reminds me of a cool childhood toy I was obsessed with called Dinky Dino! it also kinda reminds me of the sims and I freaking love the sims! and me having a game with a combination between the sims and cute animals like pets is like having the best if both worlds :P
does that answer your question? :P

Honestly I love the bug/fish/and now diving features! They really make the game more interesting and fun, and I've actually taken interest in the studies of them because of the series! ^-^

And I mean just the games themselves really provide an interesting array of things to do, so that's probably why I love the series so much.

I always enjoyed animal games and town making games so Animal Crossing was a perfect game for me! It has that relaxing addicting quality that most games should have. Earning bells,Catching fish and bugs,Building a house and Just making a town.

It can be really relaxing and a good boredom buster! I love how the game never ends and there is always a new challenge!

These are all great answers!

My first AC game was Wild World and I loved talking to villagers, decorating my house, and catching bugs and fish. In NL, I still like those things, but recently I've taken an interest in landscaping. I love improving the town bit by bit and adding flowers and stuff. It's also fun to interact with other playersx and checking out their dream towns.

Well I find it fun in general plus it reminds me of when I was younger and I played wild world with my brother.

It's like a little perfect world where (almost) everything goes your way. Cute talking animals that are sooo sweet to you, being the mayor of a town, customizing things how you want, all the numerous activities you can do, etc. It's just an escape for me and it's so relaxing and peaceful on that game. Great for when my anxiety issues take over.

Yes! so ture ♥

It has endless things to do in it. I use it for escapism purposes. Sometimes things are better in my NL town than my real life one and I can dive into it at will. It is also an incredibly relaxing game most of the time.

Villagers! I love meeting new ones, and finding ones I thought I wouldn't like (Pietro) and then becoming best buddies with them! Pietro even gave me his picture on my old town (I of course brought it with me to my new one). Making new friends is always fun!

Tbh I would've quit playing this again if this forum didn't exist. I've used other ACNL forums mildly and decided to stick with this one which fueled me to play the game... I get bored of slow and dragging games, having to do the same thing over and over, and having to click on so many damn things... I had no idea that ACNL would be like this before buying it. There was so much hype about it that i decided to hop on the train to destress after uni semester. I got super bored and quit and 2 or so years later found belltree. What intriguing is that this forum has a 2nd currency. TBT + TTing speeds the game speed up by a few hundred folds... And now i rarely get bored. Theres nothing that i don't like except the mailing system - requires too many individual clicks and its annoying as !##@$^#%$^%^%%#$@#

It's hard for me to pinpoint one thing, I love everything about this game. I think it's because I can fully immerse myself in it and just forget everything that's going on around me

Unfortunately, I feel like I have to be accomplishing something to enjoy a game (which isn't necessarily easy to do with ACNL). With this game I've pretty much focused on collecting all the items and completing all the badges. I know some people disagree with this way of playing sometimes, but to me it's basically been 1300+ hours of scavenger hunting and badge completions.

I've also enjoyed meeting cool people on the island and developing friendships with them. The multi-player on ACNL really adds to it's replay value.

For me it's a the customization. I love it so much
My town is pretty, my mayor is pretty, my villagers are pretty.
Everything is aesthetically pleasing and I get the satisfaction of completing jobs, finding rare things to boot!
It's a lot of fun and almost everything I could want in a game! :)
I've never played a game as long as I have animal crossing tbh

ACNL at first was just meh for me

But then I started to get more and more out of the game, and then there was one point in which I wouldn't even sleep playing ACNL. Everyday I was able to wake up because I didn't know about Time Travel yet so I was always excited to earn the smallest things, shake every tree, do the daily tasks before I go to class.

Unfortunately that fun was lost when I time traveled, and now I have a new fun that isn't as good as the initial.

Now, surprisingly, I actually like the trading portion of the game--- with other players! Dunno why, never thought of myself as the trader lol

However getting the dream town of mine was always my goal, because I am playing with my sister I always want to impress her with my town :) It's so satisfying whenever she says "omg I want my town to be like yours"

At first it was fun because I like games where you can decorate and create. Though I've found lately I find the game less fun and a bit more like a chore because you feel forced to play daily unless you accidentally want to lose favorite villagers. If that wasn't a factor I'd have so much more fun with the game.

This is a game with possibilities, customization, and something new around every corner.

I first got the game for my birthday at age 11 and haven't looked back since. Animal Crossing, especially New Leaf, lets you make your own world truthfully your own. Paths, customizable furniture patterns, qr codes, public works projects, housing exteriors... this game lets you make everything the way you want to. No town is ever going to look the same. I love being able to line pretty streets (made by someone with much more artistic ability than me) with hybrids and streetlamps. I love being able to turn my home into a castle. I love being able to wear a bikini to the beach and Hogwarts robes when I'm feeling fangirl-y.

There's always something to do in Animal Crossing. If I don't feel like fishing, there's bug catching. If I don't want to do that, I can pick fruit. Still bored? Re-do your paths or find some cute new qr codes. Club Tortimer makes it easy to connect with people, and forums like this allow me to connect with other bored people looking for fun or find villagers I really want. The online and offline activities never cease, and there's always another goal to work towards: finishing a furniture set, finally upgrading your house, collecting every kind of fruit, finding the perfect spring-themed path... the activities and possibilities are endless.

Animal Crossing is a game that can be exciting, relaxing, fun, played alone or with friends, a competition or a project. You can do anything and have fun doing it. It isn't tedious or dull (unless you're beetle-hunting... man, that's boring.) It's a game I've always adored and a game I will continue to adore.

And that, kids... is what makes Animal Crossing fun for me.

i love how calming it is!! it's so relaxing walking around your town and talking to your cute villagers, it's like the most low-stress game ever haha :D

Being able to do anything in the game, really.
Like gardening/landscaping your town with trees, bushes, flowers, PWPs and custom paths.
