Why did you buy a Wii U? If you don't have one, what would be enough of a reason to?
I'd like to know how many people bought a Wii U when Mariio Kart 8 came out because I fall into that category.

I don't have one. The main reason being is that I don't want to pay for it since there aren't any games I want to play badly enough. I suppose Mario Kart 8 is a close factor but it's still not enough.

There would have to be MANY games I'd like in order for me to buy a whole new console. I'm content with my Wii and 3DS.~

Because it's Nintendo and they'd have to fall as hard as the Virtual Boy to make me steer away, (which almost happened with the 3DS). I played a WiiU in Dec 2012, a roommate of my friend's got one from his work for free, and it was SO weird and unappealing at that time, that DK course thing in NintendoLand = which screen am I looking at what do I do what is going on why are there so many buttons AHHHH. Then didn't see or hear about the WiiU again until E3, which then I went to a Best Buy that held the Mario 3D World, DK, WW, and MK8 WiiU event, where I played and won a duel in MK8, and they gave me a Year of Luigi gold plated coin haha. That E3/Best Buy event changed my mind, but I waited until Sept 2013 for the Wind Waker bundle, so of course the fancy gamepad + WWHD was a seller. It's probably my 2nd favorite console Zelda game. Pikmin 3, NintendoLand, Rayman Legends and Mario Bros U were also sellers for me. As well as Earthbound and Balloon Fight being the two VC games I wanted the most. I knew there was many goodies at the time coming, pretty much everything is out that I was waiting for except for a handful, but with E3 this week, it'll add more to the upcoming WiiU list. I feel like I bought it at the perfect time, say what you want about slow influx of games, yeah I see that but the ones out are awesome and totally fill the void for me. Never a boring day with the WiiU. It's a mighty fine successor to the Wii.
But if you didn't really like the Wii, you probably wont care about the WiiU. Cause that's how it goes, if you didn't care about your 360/PS3 you're probably not gonna go to the XB1/PS4. You may take the time to switch teams haha
I never cared that there's WiiU doing poorly drama, it'll bounce back or just be a distant third place, either way Nintendo won't just pull the rug from under it they already said that, and there's plenty of stuff coming both physical and digital, first and third party. If you enjoyed the Wii and love Nintendo, why stay away from it just because others are sour? :p

They re-released the monster hunter bundle over here in October and it was like $50 cheaper than a regular wiiu deluxe bundle so i bought it yolo

My friends and I decided to go hang out at Gamestop, and when we were there, we played their Wii U demo. Oddly enough, it was GAME & WARIO that made us love the system. Now all three of us have it.

LoZ: Wind Waker is my very favorite game, I have a lot of sentiment with it q vq so of course, I had to get the HD remake, and of course, I also had to get the WW themed game pad... :P
That's the only thing I've ever played on it though, besides some old wii games when I'm too lazy to just set up the wii o ~o

I bought the Wind Waker Bundle for only $200 with NO taxes or shipping from Amazon. It was too good of a deal and it was brand new. I knew I was going to buy Mario Kart and Smash Bros. Donkey Kong: Tropical Freeze and Super Mario 3D World turned out to be incredible games too.

I also LOVE Nintendo in panic mode. They make some really great games when they're losing money.

mariokart and pikmin 3 in that order - but it was really cause i found this deal where i could trade in games and save heaps of money ^^

The Zelda-trailer from this years E3!

Not really though... I actually decided to get one because of Mario Kart 8. Haven't gotten it yet, though, but I'm pretty sure I will.

I've become really tempted to get one for my birthday this year, but it all depends on if my parents can afford it. The games that suddenly made me want it are MK8 (obviously), Mario Maker and Pikimin. There are probably a few more, but I can't think of them right now.

Anyway the thing is, I'm really unsure whether or not I want this. I don't know what else I'd want for my birthday anyway, so I guess I'm not missing out on anything else in particular. I'm kind of worried that the MK8 craze will be over shortly after I get a Wii U and I'll end up selling it within the first hour like I did with MK7.

I don't have one and I'd never buy one either because I simply don't have enough time to play. I'm perfectly happy with my 3DS. :)

I bought one just because I love Nintendo! And it seems to be looking like a worthwhile purchase! Look at late 2014 - mid 2015!!

I bought my Wii U in September 2013.

The reasons were:
- The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD
- Super Mario 3D World
- Mario Kart 8
- Super Smash Bros. for Wii U
- The New Zelda game

And then there will of course be many more titles that will get me interested. Hyrule Warriors and Bayonetta 2 are just 2 titles that I'm really looking forward to right now.

I bought it kinda on a whim I guess LOL. My friend has one that I've played and really enjoyed. Also, I just like to keep up with all Nintendo's new stuff. I'm looking forward to Hyrule Warriors and SSBs, and I think I'll get Mario Kart 8. I actually think it was the $200 refurbished WiiU deal on Nintendo that really pushed me to buy. I ordered it yesterday, so it should be at my house when I get home from vacation!

To be honest, I got it because of Smash Bros. I saw an amazing deal on Boxing Day and got it then. c:

Tropical Freeze, Mario Kart 8, Wind Waker HD, Super Mario World, Yoshi's Woolly World, MH3U, and Smash Bros.

Pikmin 3,I <3 that series. Also because of Wind Waker, loved playing the original when I was little.
