I ended up having a mixture of themes for each of my rooms in my home. I wanted every room to give off a different atmosphere and feel.

I was curious as to what you all do for your rooms and if they have specific themes as well. I was also wondering how in depth you go with your room choices. I usually get VERY thoughtful into my room placement, but sometimes I go overboard.

As for my house, I still have to design my central room, but here are the main themes for my other rooms:
- Back Room
For my backroom, I went with a Sweets shop. The room has a tasteful class, accented by items like the merlions and a refurbished white ebony piano. I also utilized the alpine set and refurbished a lot of it with a lighter wood type and a custom shortcake design that I made. I put a tropical wall paper on the walls to give it a more wishful feel too. I put it in the backroom mainly so it could have a big entrance. Plus, there aren't doorways so I have more room to put more sweets and other accents on the walls.

- Left Room
My left room ended up being a Social-esque Coffee room. I ended up using mainly minimalist furniture and coffee items to keep everything very simple. There's lots of places to sit down and room to move around. I felt like it'd be good for get togethers with neighbors! The wallpaper was also the one that shoes buildings at night through large windows. The name escapes me at the moment, but it makes the whole room feel just a bit more classy. No particular reason for it being one of the side rooms, I just knew I didn't want it as my center room, basement, or upstairs.

- Right Room
My right room is a Spa. It also uses the minimalist furniture and lots of flowers, plants, and pots to give it a more relaxing vibe. I still need to find fitting music to go in here, but for now it's a quaint little room that you can go to to rest. Not much else went into the room itself other than the idea of it being a place that isn't overly daunting to the eye.

- Upstairs
I turned my upstairs into a mini-apartment. It's essentially where nearly all the necessities are. I made it into a cabin-esque room. The main "theme" I was working towards was comfort and easy access. There's a small kitchen, a gathering area with a TV (may be adding a gaming system), as well as a dining area and a spot for the computer and desk. I even added a place to read that is only now lacking a chair. I mainly wanted it to be my main living area or room.

- Downstairs
I'm so proud of my basement and it isn't even that original or anything. So, I turned my basement into an arcade-esque room, but with an addition. If you've seen the anime Death Parade, I also made it a bit of a homage to that anime. I added in a bar with stained glass pictures on the wall, a reference to nearly every game that is in the show (minus Twister and air hockey), a button for players to press, a kokeshi doll sitting on the bar, and a mannequin behind the bar. Alongside all that, I also added some other basic arcade/game room necessities like pinball, a crane game, a TV with game consoles, and a few other tid bits here and there. Honestly, it came together really nicely.
I still don't know what I'll be doing with my central room yet, but hopefully I'll figure out something that ties the house together.

Lemme know what you think of my room ideas and let me here what you all have done with your homes!

I only have three rooms in my house right now seeing as im putting my main focus on the actual town!

my main room is the bedroom with the full rococo series but customized to the pink/white with a bunch of cute pinks and white accents and a piano in the middle.

my 2nd room is a quaint little cafe, cutesy but more open and less pinks than my main room (lots of cakes and such)

finally my upstairs room is a sauna/bathing room! Lights turned off so its very dim, a larger bathtub, greenery everywhere and bluelit lamps to give it a serene feel.

Main room - Cafe, I use the same general layout/theme as the cafe from tokyo ghoul ^-^ I use mannequins as well, two of them to be specific. One is kaneki while the other is nishiki, couldn't find any way to customize them to look like any other character

Basement - I just use the mermaid set. It's difficult to explain, but the mermaid set is basically meant to be in the basement to represent being underwater in the ocean

Second floor - Princess set, also known as the bedroom. I'm obviously not that creative, haha. The only original rooms I have are the main, left and right rooms

Left room - Custom or more realistic bedroom. I didn't use a set for this obviously 0u0 But I just used the basic furniture items to make it seem like any typical girl's bedroom, but with a "kawaii" pastel theme to make it cute. (ex: used a laptop, desk, bunk bed, stuffed animals- also referred to as the bears like the papa bear and everything) and a custom made carpet/wallpaper

Right room - Japanese styled

Back room - Rococo set

I actually intended to use the top room as a library, but then I'd have nowhere to put the princess set. It's obviously worth a lot so I'm not going to just give it away or sell it..yet I don't want to tear down the furniture from any of my other rooms either haha. I'll figure out something for that later though

eh, my house isn't anything special. it's also sort of a work in progress still, I just can't seem to be happy with how things are ever. one day I'll get it all figured out. :|

my main room is kind of weird right now. I was going for something kinda like a living room, with a combination of lovely furniture and kiddie furniture customized with fruit colors. but it doesn't really look too good. the main room is so hard to work with, with the 3 doorways... but I'll figure something out eventually. would like to use the general idea I had, just needs much better placement. K.K. House is playing, and I've got Cally's picture on one table, and Tex and K.K.'s pictures on the lovely stereo.

the left room is just sweets furniture. I put Clay's picture in there because he's lazy and loves food and stuff. seemed perfect to me. the room feels a bit empty, but I don't know what I'd put along the bottom wall, if anything. it probably won't be changed. K.K. Ragtime is playing in there currently, because... I don't know. it was Stale Cupcakes before.

the right room is a combination of rococo furniture customized white and princess furniture. there's also some minimalist minitables, because the rococo and princess furniture sets don't have a small table. a shame.
but anyway, it's just kinda the "fancy" room. I also have a computer desk in there, because I can. :'> between that and the princess vanity(dresser, whatever), I have a table, and Tammy's pic is on the side next to the computer desk, with a makeup case on the side next to the vanity.
Bree's pic is displayed on a minimalist minitable that is between the chest and curio. in the middle, there's a table with the afternoon tea set and a chocolate fountain on it. the bottom wall has a rococo chair with a minitable on either side. one's got the CD player on it, the other's got the berliner item on it. I have the 3 tootoids in there as well, on the one wall. because I like them, and need them in the most unfitting room possible. :D K.K. Western is playing in there, just because it's one of my top 2 favorite K.K. musics and... yep.

the back room is the cozy room. it's a big work in progress, because furniture placement is hard to do. I have a combination of ranch and cabin furniture in it with a few pieces of classic furniture. it's changed several times, and I'm still just not done. I recently decided I wanted it to be a relaxing room, but I also wanted to have a bunch of food in there. so I got ceramic hot pots and hot plates to customize... and I have a ranch table with lunch trays on it, and 2 chairs for that. it's just kind of a jumble since I moved furniture around. I don't really know what I'm doing. ~__~ I might get rid of the classic stuff? whooooooo knows.
K.K. Chorale plays in the room, I think it's fitting.

the basement is the fun stuff room. I've got a popcorn machine and soda case along one wall, and a garbage pail. one wall has the pinball machine, tabletop game and arcade machine... and then the capsule toy machine and crane game. the other wall's got some Mario stuff and the ultra hand and ultra machine. sloppy lamp in the corner. mushroom mural and block floor. K.K. Cruisin' playing, because it's my other favorite top fave K.K. music. I have the love tester and Virtual Boy displayed on flower tables in the middle of the room.

the second floor is the vaporwave/aesthetic room. uhhhhhhhhh. it's a big mix of stuff. got some box sofas, common chairs... bathtub, aurora screen, gallant and beautiful statues... stuff. lava lamps, they make it really blue in there and I like that. ionian and broken posts. lady and fan palms. I feel like the placement isn't the best ever, but not sure of what to do. it's the only room with a TV now, there's a TV with VCR in there. no music, I just have the TV on.

Haha, I actually JUST started seriously decorating tonight! I want a fairytale themed house, with maybe some aspects of the toy shop theme thrown in (I'm a sucker for those Crane Games and Gacha Machines). Currently my main room is mermaid, and my left side room is sweet. I have a fully expanded house >.<

I try to make my rooms reflect the character and their specific themes! Since Everleaf is a medieval/fairytale themed town, I have one house that's themed like a forgotten forest temple/palace, another that's a wizard's castle, a third is a tavern/inn, and the fourth will just be a little woodsy cottage. All of my rooms are tied into those themes. Like the temple has a lot of marble statues and pillars and plants. There's a treasure room, sanctuary with lots of fruits and natural foods, a garden, etc. The tavern has the kitchen, the main eating room, and two rooms with several beds. The wizard's castle has a throne room, bedroom, library, and a magic tower room (still debating what to do with the other two rooms).

And then in Merivale my theme is going to be sort of vintage. I haven't fully decided what sort of house themes I'll have just yet, though. My mayor's house will just be very classic, but I can't choose between having houses themed on: a diner (50's maybe), cafe (something a little more chic), theater (with a room with a stage, a room that's a tv studio, a dressing room, etc), a glamorous hotel, a toy emporium (I'd probably combine a cafe room into this one), a little school, etc.

Depends on the house. The kappa lives in a beach house, so the main room is the beach, the back room is the boat dock to dock on the beach, the left room is the cabana while the right is the mermaid room, upstairs is space (what else is above a big open beach?) while downstairs is all mushrooms (again, what else grows under the beach that you can get from this game?), while my mayor house is a restaurant- not a cafe, a restaurant, back rooom is the backyard, left is the kitchen and preparation room, right is the restroom, above is the 7/11 while below is a Nintendo museum. Another who's still in a tent has exactly the same setup as a camper, complete with backpack, radio and lantern, while the richest person in town lives in a gold house complete with the most expensive furniture items in the game- gorgeous in the main room, left is all golden, back is rococo, right is balloon, above is Gracie, while the basement where they spend most their time counting their money is sloppy since they're crazy rich, but also depressed since money isn't buying them happiness. Those are my main 4, my Japanese house is about to be a konbini, tokoyama, and hanaya on the main floors, a shokubutsu en in the basement, and apato above.

Main room - Pastry shop/Cafe (Completed)
Back room - Japanese Cherry Blossom room (Almost completed)
Right room - Kindergarten classroom (Completed)
Left room - Middle school classroom (Completed)
Upstairs - Picnic (Completed)
Basement - Supplies for gardening (Not started on)

My house is a house house.

Main room is the living room
Room on right is the playroom
Room on left is the kitchen
Room in back is the bathroom
Upstairs room is my bedroom

I went a little overboard with my main room, but I'm trying to go all out on the toyshop theme, so my exterior is all kiddie themed and then the mainroom is the entire set of kiddie furniture, wall and floor with a whole lot of toys and games and more toys and more games. I can barely move over to my other rooms!
My upstairs is the Pav?-set, I really like how pixelated they looked in the texture with the blue and white. I made that room into a bit more adulty, not as much toys there, but there's a laptop and some nice decorations, like a globe and a flower or two.
My backroom I'm going to try and make it underwater-themed, so there's a lot of the fishy furniture, not the whole set yet. Still working on it! And then I have the underwater floor, I wanna get the underwater-wallpaper too, I think it would go great with the furniture!
My right room is the egg-set :D They are so fun! And that egg lamp is absolutely gorgeous! Not much else in that room.

That's all the rooms I have currently, though my future plan is for the left is to get the bug-furniture and the flower furniture and make it into a magical-garden type room, kind of like the underwater room but with bugs :D And the basement I haven't decided yet, probably store clothes and things I find pretty :D

Main room - Cabin theme
Right room - Spooky Theme (Incomplete)
Upstairs - Jingle Theme (Soon to become modern wood theme or another)
Basement - Lab Theme (Incomplete)

I don't really have any particular house theme apart from a pink-ish/girly theme. ^^;

My entire house has a cabin, outdoorsy, shabby chic theme with a bohemian twist. The only that's going to be different is the meditation garden.
