Especially to those people that beat and own virtually everything in this game.

I'm curious to what keeps you motivated to keep playing ACNL? :lemon:

I'm curious about this too. I could never be the type of person who comes on here and rushes to buy everything they've ever wanted from the other members within a matter of a few days. I find it much more exciting to unlock things at their natural pace. Once that's said and done though, I'd personally just move on to another game, or maybe start over once I got bored enough

I always give myself something to do. It doesn't necessarily have to be anything big. For example, right now I'm trying to earn all the badges. This is super time consuming but also so much fun and very rewarding at the same time.

I also like to keep playing around with my rooms. I have three characters in my town and every one of them has at least one room that I like to redecorate every now and again.

I also have an area in my town that I change each season. In April, I plant saplings to get sakura trees. I always find it fun redecorating stuff!

Pretty much everything she said ^ things like redecorating rooms, trying to unlock shop upgrades/stores, and even practicing QR designing can keep you into ACNL! I personally enjoy trading out my villagers all the time, especially earning IGB! I also really love to give things to people, so once you get to a certain point in the game, you can help others get what they want!

I want to feel like my town is as beautiful as the dream towns on Tumblr so I won't stop until I'm satisfied.

In general, the main thing that keeps me motivated is finishing my town. It doesn't need to be as beautiful as all those tumblr towns, but it needs to be beautiful to me. After that, well, I'll probably work on finishing my catalog and playing the game through the way it's meant to, one day at a time. I want to finish my museum by catching everything I can myself in the right season (i.e. not going to a town in a different season, TTing ahead) and then buying the rest. I also want to keep going to the island and getting fortune cookies and getting unorderables and selling them to others before hosting giveaways and helping other people.

I spent the first couple of years just mucking around, letting whatever happen whenever it happened. I didn't TT or try to speed anything up. Then I took a break for several months.

When I started up again, the landscaping began. I've been overhauling my characters' homes and more actively seeking dreamies. The badges are definitely motivators now, but I'm trying to do them without grinding too much.

I think it's stayed relatively fresh for me because I haven't tried to rush anything. I've also got a couple of towns on the go, which allows me to try different things, plus not-having all my villagers locked in allows for some variety too.

I can't imagine ever finishing my towns. Always having something to do, however small, is what makes AC so appealing to me.

For some reason, I play mostly to visit with my villagers. I really love the villagers currently in my town. I also like the museum.
