I hope there isn't already a thread for this, I searched and couldn't find one so >.<

What is your current job, and what are past jobs you've had? What are your experiences?

This summer was my first time working, and I was a contracted 'Senior Television Assistant" for two weeks for an event in my city, and after that ended I've been working as a Dog Caregiver at a doggy daycare/boarding/grooming facility ^-^ IT'S AMAZING!! I basically play with dogs all day, and do some cleaning here and there to keep everything sanitary and tidy :)

*Sorry to those who haven't had jobs before! But here you can do some job research, I guess :D

Well, I was a kennel worker. It was an internship at an animal clinic. I don't think we treated the dogs very well. We only had four big cages, six medium cages, and twelve small dog cages. Sometimes we'd put a big dog in a medium cage and he'd look so cramped.

Anyway, I hated it. I was promised that I'd learn how to inject vaccines, clip nails, greet customers, etc. but all I did was clean. One time, my supervisor made me clean the same window for 40 minutes because she couldn't find anything for me to do.

I think this was kinda sad too. When we had to put down a dog, the vet tech talking to the women who was having the dog put down was talking calmly and so nicely but then when she walked out she said,"She just won't shut up..." under her breath. Her best friend is dying so yeah, she is gonna cry. This isn't uncommon for a lot of places though.

All around, bad coworkers and NO experience other than cleaning and tolerating others. I haven't been able to get a job in months...

I've never had a job, but I've worked at a haunted house for the past four years.

Just at a frozen yogurt place for a little under a year. Haven't had any jobs/internships in my career, but I'll probably try to look for some soon.

LOL best job?

That's so sad >.< I'm sorry for your bad experience! At my place we have an open-area concept, so pretty large but there are 3 fenced in areas so separate the dogs and keep them safe, as well as an outdoor turf ;-;

My past jobs have been a camp counsellor, daycare worker, working in a genetics lab, and a TA and tutor in chemistry and biology. My favourite jobs were in teaching and my least favourite was probably working in the lab. I don't really like jobs where I'm not working with people, and my lab job usually had me working weekends and holidays.

I work as a stock analyst now, but I had lots of different jobs during my high school and college days. I waitressed, worked menial retail jobs, did secretarial work for both a hair salon and a law practice, managed a tanning salon, tutored high school kids in bio, math, and English, and put in some time at Mrs. Field's Cookies when I was really young. The tanning salon and law practice weren't so bad and I actually really enjoyed tutoring, but the rest were just means to a paycheck.

I have only had 2 summer jobs so far... Which is pretty sad to think about since I'm almost 21. My parents always wanted me to focus on school and have that be my main priority in my life, so I've only worked 2 summer jobs.

My first summer job was a lifeguard at a pool kinda far from my house. I signed up cause I wanted to work with my best friend, but we ended up like almost never being scheduled together. It was a pretty fun job, but I never really got to save anyone. The only person I got to jump in the water for was a test by my company :p

Last summer I worked at a frozen yogurt place near my house, and it was pretty awful. You'd think my job would be easy since it was self-serve froyo, but nope. My bosses were a pain, and my all but one of my coworkers were totally incompetent. By the time I was getting ready to quit and move back to college, I was so excited to leave that place. The only perk was free froyo. Which I took advantage of every time I worked.

About three years ago I did a paper run thing. I did it for about a year and a half and then I quit once I started high school. Only because I wanted to focus more on my work. I might get a job at EB games or KFC or something like that. That would probably be next year though, apparently most people don't want 14 year olds, but it's fine once you turn fifteen -.-

My first job when I graduated high school was at a Subway, it was a fairly easy going job with nice co-workers and it was a good experience for a first job.

My second job was working at a snack shack in a casino, making espresso drinks and serving things like pizza and hot dogs, even though it was a simple job the environment was vile, and was fully of drama and none of the management had their stuff together, it was all bickering and changing rules every single day. I was NOT fond of it, I never even had a regular schedule, one month I would be full time, other weeks I would be working mega overtime and working both night and day shifts, being thrown around everywhere, and some weeks I would be working like two days... it was not my jam.

So as soon as I could (which was like after a year of that) I transferred in the casino to the hotel where I now work. I do "Night Audit" which is basically me fixing everything everyone who worked in the day's mistakes and doing paperwork, but mostly just sitting at the computer doing whatever for ten hours straight in the middle of the night. I actually really enjoy it, the only downside is that I work one day shift which throws me off my sleep schedule, and I work every weekend, but for the pay and the fact that I get the same days off as my boyfriend every week it's worth it! =D

I've never had a regular job, but I've worked at events (e.g. weddings, graduations, political debates) and for small local companies filming whatever they needed. Other than that just mandatory work experience and volunteer work for fundraisers and girl guiding.

I'm working my first summer job at a shoe shop. It's not too bad to be honest. The people there are really nice and I get paid good money. The downside is that it is really tiring because you are constantly on your feet having to find shoes in the stockroom and going back and forth, back and forth. :(

I've also done work experience at a photo studio and also at a secondary school where I taught Japanese lessons. I hated working at the photo studio, it was awful and boring. I suppose using Photoshop to edit photos for photobooks was fun but I never actually got to do any shoots (when they said that I would but oh well). Working at the secondary school was really fun though, I loved it.

I used to work at a daycare/summer camp. The building was split into three rooms, one for infants and toddlers, another for younger children about 4-8, and another for all the kids older than that up to about 15 years old. I would alternate between watching the younger and older kids and I really loved it a lot. The younger kids usually stayed in the building each day and I'd plan activities for them to do, and the older kids were the ones who were involved in the summer camp so they'd go on field trips every day and when I went with them I'd just supervise.

I only ever had two jobs, and just started my second. Tomorrow is my fifth they there. I worked as a bagger for about 9 months. Now I am a cafeteria worker at a hospital.

Current Job: An "Operations Administrative Assistant." I essentially work on operation/corporate/business related projects. However, my contract is up at the end of August - so I am currently job hunting.

I am applying for everything and anything, but I am really banking on a Specials Constable with my city's police station. It's essentially a 911 operator. I am also debating on a dramatic career change and becoming a police officer like my dad.

Past Jobs:
Supply Clerk - order chemicals, equipment, office supplies, etc. And sell old equipment.
Sales Associate - I've worked in a green house and a small boutique for a summer
Instructors assistant - helping students with math and english home work. Mostly kept this job throughout university
Insurance and motor license issuer - Issue drivers licenses, etc. I was here for about a year, then got a less-hour part time job throughout university.
Till person - I worked at Dairy Queen for 3 years. I actually met my fiance through working there.

I've worked many retail mall jobs; Aeropostale, American Eagle, Bath & Body Works, and Express was where I stayed longest.
After I realized retail hours can't pay the bills, I then got a job as a Server at Olive Garden for 4 years. Worst job ever, but great money.
After that I worked for an office doing Administrative work. Amazing money, but the 9-5 life isn't for me.

I now work as a freelance makeup artist. Mostly do weddings, but I like to take photo shoot jobs on the side.
Great money, new schedules+places every day, and I am my own boss. Very happy doing what I do!

Last summer I worked at a Summer camp. It was quite tiresome but I had a great time working there. They keep asking me to come back and volunteer because they're short on good staff.

I worked at a boarding kennels for 4\5 years
Volunteered for walking retired greyhounds, before having a few evening shifts a week there, (still have that job now)
Worked at a year at a school cleaning (hated that job so much you have no idea)
Now I have the greyhound kennel job in the evenings, and i am semi running my own dog walking business/helping someone out to walk dogs. :)
