What is your view on time traveling?

If I TT, it's for one of two reasons: trying to get a villager ping me to move or moving them into boxes when someone claims them in the villager trading forum.

I don't really consider it cheating and to each their own, but I like taking the game day by day...helps keep me playing.

Oh wow another thread on our opinions on time traveling -_-

That being said, in some aspects I consider it cheating, in some I don't.

No in my real towns. Yes in my perfect fruit only towns. It goes March to May and than repeats. In town I TT to 4am so I can harvest in peace and it goes very fast.

Well, maybe if my dumb villagers would request GOOD PWPs, I wouldn't have to TT, now, would I?

I'm indifferent, really. Sometimes I TT. Sometimes I prefer the game in real time. I hold no prejudice against players who do either.

I consider it cheating if people are doing it to get badges. But I also don't really care if they do. lol

If time traveling makes the game more fun for ya, then go for it ;)

I consider it cheating, but I don't consider it a bad thing at all. It's not the way the game is truly meant to be played, but you could say the same about choosing all of your villagers, something which almost everybody seems to do here.

If Nintendo didn't want me to TT, they wouldn't have made the 16 cycle required for getting a villager back.

I rarely TT. I just do it when I don't get the chance to play at an earlier time (when shops are still open) OR to check if the villager I adopted has moved in. I want to follow the real time so to me, it's cheating but it's really helpful! BUT changing the time is part of the game so it's not really cheating the game~ you're just playing the game the way you want to.

I don't think it's cheating. The gamemakers would have had a very easy task making it not possible if they wanted to. I excelly don't want to TT, I only do it to get my Dreamies. When I'm done with that, I finally don't have to ask isabelle anymore about it. I also don't mind getting all the seasons, it's not like my dream town would only fit when it's spring.

I don't see time traveling as cheating as it would probably be harder to time travel if it was considering cheating?
I time travel as I basically finish my chores for my town in a hour or two, for example visiting shops, talking to villagers, watering flowers, etc. I also time travel to get rid of unwanted villagers or to breed my hybrids. Time traveling actually makes me want to play the game more, so I guess I'm one of the odd ones out there haha.

Everyone enjoys the game as they need to, while I do not consider timetravel cheating I do say
Duping and powersaving 100% "Original" villagers is cheating, While I do not care if they do because as stated everyone enjoys the game as needed I just dislike people bidding 50mil on villagers ( not so much on tbt much anymore but in other FB groups I see it) or suddenly since the power save launch everyone just magically has 100% tier 1 villagers all the time to sell >.< Ifind it extremely difficult as a normal player who doesnt have many bells anymore to obtain dreamies since people bid so much/ expect like 20-40mil for a villager >.< @_@ not to say the slavetrade cycle towns are the much better, atleast most people give them away for free or low prices ( they're also legit villagers) haha
While I do consider duping cheating it has it advantages I think it should be kept on an minimal, say duping bushes/sapings since receiving one a day takes to dam long

I TT but not as much as I used to I'm trying to take it slow.
I do my animal crossing Chores everyday
Getting an PWP, Working at Brewsters, Talking to my villagers, Doing Favors, Getting furniture/customized, Getting my gesture, Fishing
I can play an animal crossing day 1-4hours Really depending but I say each real life day I play about 3 Animal crossing days worth I TT unless I get annoyed at PwP or moving out an villager. It keeps me wanting to play because I feel like I have more to do, While it will still be a while before there is "nothing more to do" I do not want to get there to quickly at the time I do not want to take it to slow because I will become bored of the game so I take it at my on pace.

I personally try not to unless i am cycling someone out. I do not consider it cheating since sometimes it is hard to play the game at ideal times and since it is in real time it is hard when you have real life conflicts. I wish i could combine the night owl and beautiful town ordinances because i think the main street shops close too early when fully upgraded and i easily play past 9 pm due to school and other real life conflicts. Personally i am not a patient person so waiting to the next day isn't always the option. I completely respect those who are 100% TT free because you are incredibly patient.

The only cheating i consider cheating really is powersaving villagers but if you choose to parttake in such activities then that is your choice. It's your game and a simulation one at that meaning there is no set way to play the game.

I don't really have a strong opinion one way or the other. I do it when I feel it's necessary, and will never really understand purists who outright REFUSE to do it at all, but hey, that's their prerogative. They can play the game however they choose. I do think it's maybe a little cheap that those who TT all the time can make tons of money much faster than those who play at the normal set pace, but eh, whatevs. I worry more about me 'n mine than what other people are doing with their games.

I think it all depends on what you care most about in the game. Obviously if you value villagers, you would TT a lot because you want to cycle your villagers quickly. But I think that if you just care about doing villagers favors or getting Public Works Projects, TTing isn't really needed.

I don't time travel, but I also don't consider it 'cheating'. If it was, why would the makers of the game have put it there? People are just using their resources. If they find going ahead / back in time as fun, then let them do it! (๑ᴖ◡ᴖ๑) I don't think anyone should be made fun of or ridiculed for something they find enjoyable.

I used to be a serial time traveler in past AC games and it's because I like playing events, or just want to skip days (like nook's being closed for remodeling, or raffle in ACGC.

New Leaf is my first AC game where I'm challenging myself NOT to time travel, and instead just play the game naturally day-by-day.

I want to see how long I can go without time travelling and so far it's been a little over three months and counting!

I don't consider time travelling cheating, because it's an in-game feature. :P
