I don't like any of the catalog furniture series when they're standard. I always have to customize them or mix and match to make them look good. But if I had to choose my favorite one when customized, it would be the stripe series. I think the balloon series is the worst, but it's not that bad..in small doses.
Early on, I was obsessed with collecting the balloon series because I didn't have a slingshot. Then when I did get one, I didn't always hear or see the balloons coming. Now, I'm so sick of it!!! Gahhh, give me something else when I shoot you down! Hands down, the worst set in my eyes. I'm trying to replace all of Pietro's gaudy balloon set. I gave him an alpine table hoping he would replace his balloon table - he did!!! <3
Favorite set has to be sloppy. Probably because it's so unobtainable for me. I've been trying for weeks and I'm still not able to find all the pieces. Just rare, I guess. It helps that it fits into the Sci-Fit theme my interior and exterior are both going for. I think I just like the color scheme - it's easy on the eyes, but also not like terribly pastel. Fits in with a lot of different decors.
I think the princess set is pretty as well, though I would never decorate with it.
I love the Alpine and Kiddie sets for their customization options. Also really love the mermaid stuff (didn't at first, thought it was tacky), the Green set, Egg set, Cabana set, and Etoile's set idk what it's called. I like the balloon set too honestly but I hate that the wallpaper is so blurry? what's up with that.
Least favorite: sleek (ew design and also boring colors), astro (same as sleek), rococo (I admit I really liked it at first but I got really bored of it and now I can't stand looking at it lol), golden set (took forever to get the whole thing and it just looks ridiculous)
I always loved the sloppy series because 1. it's a cute set and 2. how difficult it was to get. I remember always wanting to be invited into Marshall's house so I could try to buy the sloppy furniture off of him. It was super rewarding when you actually get a piece. I definitely never finished the set though lol
The sweets series was also a huge favorite of mine! I loved the flooring, the lamp, and the sofa so much. I was really sad to find out there's no sweets series in the new game. Hopefully they bring it back in the next one.
Probably the Pave series is my least liked. It feels a little plain and makes me think of a very cluttered and dated set you'd see when you visited your very old relatives.
It's been a while, but I kind of like a lot of the 'stranger' furniture sets. Like the fishing and bug tourney furniture. But I usually mixed and matched pieces and I don't think I ever had a room with a full series set. I also like the sweet set. A lot of the furniture has a lot of charm and personality and gives off this wacky aura.
