Just like the title says. Its mainly because I dont Time Travel in my Main town, but I have stocked up 2 Dreamies on my Cycling town. I need like 4 different villagers in my main town gone as soon as possible.
When a villager you don't like first moves in, talk to them once for an official welcome then never again. Don't hit them with nets or interact in any way.
If the villager pings and decides they want to stay, just reset and they'll ask again.
I think once you've interacted with them the fastest way to get them to move is to befriend them. Just talk to them a few times a day, do everything they ask you to do and eventually they'll ping to move.
I tried ignoring to get a villager out, but since I'd already been talking to him it didn't work, but once I switched to befriending it didn't take that long for him to ask to move. Supposedly if you introduce yourself to a villager when they first move in and then ignore them they'll move fairly quickly, but after two weeks of that method Harry's still not moving (I've had other villagers ask to move and no one mention him moving so I know he's not planning to go), so today I started befriending to try and get him out that way...
I agree with Lucindaa that you need to interact with them first but what I do different is I completely ignore them afterwards and they ping to move. On the other hand sometimes I completely ignore the villager without befriending them first and they also ping me to move. But this is just my experience so far and people will have differing methods.
In the past Animal Crossing games you'd ignore them or hit them with tools. Doesn't work in New Leaf. It actually delays it most of the time. If it's a new villager, introduce yourself once and ignore them they should move in a week or two. If you've talked to the villager, people have created a new character and introduced themselves once and ignored the one they're trying to get rid of.
You have to befriend them. Do lots of favors for them. Talk to them excessively. Once they feel like you have a close bond they will most likely try to move away.
I started to try to befriend all of my villagers lately and being super nice to the ones I want to move out the most. Today, I got a ping from Bud with him wanting to move and I'm letting him. So, befriending seems to be the quickest that I've encountered so far.
If you choose to ignore them, you have to introduce yourself the first day they arrive with boxes still in their house. For me personally, it took 1-2 weeks for my unwanted villagers to move out. I introduced myself to Quillson a day too late, so I'm considering just befriending him and hoping he moves out.
Does anyone know if having them as a customer at the coffee shop or playing hide and seek with them affects the ignoring process?
