If I change the language, would it do anything weird to my save data? I kinda wanna try this out lol

For me the only thing it changed was that my villagers kind of forgot about my nicknames and their new catchphrases, but nothing truly worresome. Well, maybe I have some mixed languages announcements on the bulletin board but that's ok I guess

Hm, just in case I'll check tomorrow, but as far as I know both the bulletin boards and the letters stayed. If tomorrow I see some letters missing I'll post it here! I don't want to ruin anyone's letters because I spread misinformation

Nope, it doesn't affect your save data at all! I sometimes even change back and forth between languages multiple times a day, but have never had any problems.

EDIT: Regarding letters, the letters you receive upon each log-in will be in whatever language you're playing in, and will stay that way even when you change the language back. So, half of my saved letters in my mailbox are in English, and the other half in Japanese. Ditto with the bulletin board.
