What is Club Tortimer?

I hear these awful stories, but don't know where or what it is! Help!

It's a place where you can meet someone at random and can do tours with them. You can get a membership for 65 medals and the membership appears randomly at the gift shop.

People only report their bad experiences but most of the time, it's ok. You might want to go there for rare Island items.

Where it is- After you upgrade your house ( two times I think). Isabelle will tell you that the old mayor is down at the dock and wants to talk to you. Head down there and he will tell you about the Island. The next day, a boat will be there and you can go to the Island for 1000 bells. At the Island, you can play mini games that give you medals. You can buy furniture and clothing with these medals. There will also be what looks like a piece of paper that you can buy for 50 medals. This will allow you to go to Club Tortimer. At CT, you can hang out with other random players.

You might already know this, but your post sounded like you didn't. If that's the case, I hope that helped. CT isn't that bad, but you will run into some rude players now and then.
