what is a "forced smug" villager?

i keep hearing about a forced smug villager that people get but that never happened to me. im guessing it has something to do with the campsite where you dont have a choice? on my first save file it was eugene who is smug, but on my second i got moe who is lazy. is it just more likely that you get a smug?

Your starters are always uchi and jock, and the first three villagers you can invite (or wait and get randos) are peppy, normal and lazy.
After that, your 6th villager should be the first campsite visitor you get after building the campsite, and it's always a smug.
Maybe people who got other personality types are glitched, or there's a very small chance for other personalities.

But yeah, since you can't not invite the first campsite villager, it's called a forced smug. Mine was Lucha, by the way.

It's a glitch when you get someone other than a smug. Tom Nook will refer to them as being male if your 6th is a female type.

Can confirm this. I had Queenie as my first campsite villager and Tom Nook referred to her as a he and I was so confused lol

I was just wondering since the general consensus was that the villager was always smug, yet there are some people who say their first campsite visitor was of another personality. It would be interesting to see if that's true and if so, around what chance it might be that you don't get a smug...
