What inspired your town name?

My town is called Knotford.

Not really sure where it came from, I just thought of a word (Knot) and thought of a word to end it (ford) like ton or ville. It's not as fancy as some people's town names but I like it.

The town name that i've picked for the town map that i'm currently resetting for, is called Tiramisu. I wanted to name my town after a comforting dessert to go with my towns vibe. Which is meant to be warm and comforting but still have it be a forest sort of town. (and a hint of a sweet theme, if not a little more than a hint) aaaand i quite like tiramisu. So that's a bonus.

I used my last town's name (StarFall) for inspiration. I seem to like glowing objects, and MoonGlow got part of its name from Pokemon Moon.

It was originally "Starbell" since I liked Bells and Stars, or I couldn't think if anything else. :p

"Sirius" is based on a Star, I wanted a Star related town name and decided to name it like this.

Since I have quite a few towns and no patience to talk about all of them, I'll just talk about my NL town, Boston.

I honestly have no idea why my town's name is Boston. I had an obsession with the name Boston when I was younger, I guess.
A thread back in like 2012 asked this same question and this was my response:

"My town name is Boston, because so many incidents have happened in boston, massachusetts, that I felt as though the town could be like a memorial. It also houses one of the greatest music colleges in the US, Berklee, and it is hom to the Boston harbor whoch played abig role during the American Revolution. Also, I fnd the name Boston to be very formal and unique."

Idk I personally think I sounded kinda stupid and uneducated. But hey, I stuck with that town name until May of 2014 when I finally got New Leaf.

I called my town Astral because I like the stars and astronomy and I wanted a town name with that kinda theme.

Why my town is called KeybasH? Because the word is a recurrent gag when I play games and stuff. Starting way back to Pok?mon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Sky. So i want to keep the Tradition.

My first town is called Clavicus because he's one of my favorite Daedric Princes from the Elder Scrolls series and I thought it would be a cool name. My second town is named Powtown because I'm making it superhero themed and didn't want to use Gotham or another real superhero city name.

For som really stupid reason I decided that it would be an fabulous idea to name mine after a candy and now I really disappointed in my pathetic choice of: "Kit Kat"

I wanted a Blue themed town with a nice, homely feel to it. Blue-something was how I was thinking at the time, and then 'dale' felt like a homely area to me... Thus, "Bluedale" was born!

I took the names of my dogs (Oreo and Izzy), combined them, and got O'rezzy. I have no idea why I put the " ' " after the O. :)

Lilacs happen to be my favorite flower and the scent of my perfume. So I called my town Lilac.

at first my town was called Ao Wilds (wtf) but i couldnt get the theme to look right so i changed it to Canalave from Pokemon and im pretty happy with it

My current town name is Nadir, which roughly translates to 'the lowest point'. I haven't been feeling my best lately, so the name is a reminder of that, and a reminder that when someone hits bottom, there's nowhere to go but up.

My first town name came from the default title of the game lol (boring)

My current, and my second town name is Sniflwuf. It came from combining the word "sniffles" or "sniff sniff" which me and my partner does like well, you know, smelling or showering each other with kisses. Then "wuf" (like "woofwoof") which is the sound that dog (or our dog) makes whenever he barks. I just had to make it work and fit them both in because of the character limit.

I named my current town Palmetto after the town from one of my favorite books; The Foxhole Court
My first town was called Berk because I was super obsessed with how to train your dragon 5 years ago :)
