You would have very little greenery and no way to get snails or tree bugs.

I'm thinking I want to cut down everything, lay out paths and then plant again. I did something similar in my WW town. But the two trees a day (and not always regular trees - I don't like pine trees) is holding me back. It would take a ridiculously long time to get all the trees back!
You know if you have a golden shovel you can bury 1k bells to have oak trees.

Ooooh great idea about planting bells!!! I have the golden shovel! OMG!!! I don't want too many fruit trees though cause I like the cherry blossoms! But thank you so much for the great suggestion!!
Maybe after I get my last dreamie I'll think about a major remodelling of my town!

To make the task faster you could post a topic here asking people to come over and help you take all the trees down.

But yeh, seconding the bells planting thing. Obviously you can also just start hoarding saplings (it's a bit cheaper to buy them than to bury bells) and fill up with bells if you don't have enough saplings by the time you start planting.

buy some trees from people here on the forum, stock up, cut down everything and rebuild. PROFIT!

I chopped down all my trees immediately, as soon as I had access to an axe.
They usually spawn in such a random manner, and it made decorating town a pain until I chopped them down.
With them gone, you can replant them any way you want, so that they are out of the way xD
