What happens when you kick out a villager and then reinvite them?

So I was wondering, if you kick out a villager, but then reinvite them with an amiibo card, will they remember your village? Or will they have any interesting dialogue?

I think they only remember you if it’s literally the same exact copy of the villager? Like if you kick them out and your friend adopts them, then you re-adopt them from your friend’s island. But also not 100% sure about amiibo cards because I don’t use them.

They won't remember you at all unfortunately. I initially found this out when Benedict moved out, and I saw him later on mystery islands but he introduced himself like he never lived on my island at all!

Okay, if that's the case, then is there a way I could make another villager want to leave in less than a day? (Without time travel). You see, Audie is visiting my island, but I can't get her to want any other villager besides Phil to move. (Phil must be protected). I've tried that restart glitch but it doesn't seem to work.

I got this kind of dialog too when I re-invited Muffy. She doesn't seem to remember me though.

They don't remember you at all. Neither do the ones you encounter on mystery Island tours after you've let them go.
I came across Norma yesterday while Island hopping and we were besties and she didn't remember who I was.
I think the "you look familiar" is just a generic phrase. Same thing with them knowing your name and the name of your Island.
The only way they'll remember you is if someone else adopts them and then you re-adopt them.

Nope, they won't remember you at all. It's like meeting the same villager you have but on another island that 'version' of the villager won't know you. I've wanted to try to invite back an old villager on a friends island and see if they remember me, though I think that would be the case. xD

the only way they'll remember you (& other villagers on your island) is if they ended up on one of your friend's island after you kicked them out. similarly, if a friend is holding a villager for you and you re-invite them, they'll come back to your island and resume their life/friendship level with you where you left off.

if you kick them out then for example, re-invite the same villager back via mystery island encounter or amiibo invite then it'll be like meeting for the first time. they won't remember you or their "previous" life on your island. it's a clean blank slate.

Well, I ended up kicking him out, but I can always reinvite him, even if i have to restart his friendship level!
