what happens if i have a full island, but i invite someone else’s villager to my town from boxes?

i’m currently trying to pick up a marshal i got in a trade and i can’t figure out how to do this faster. i moved in kabuki from an amiibo card to get rid of the villager i gave away for him but...now i’m kinda lost! how do i clear a plot?

If you don't have an empty plot in your town, you won't be able to trigger the move in dialogue with a villager from someone else's town.
The most popular way of clearing a plot is to travel 15-30 days forwards and look for a villager with a thinking cloud. If the villager with the cloud is someone you want to keep, close the game without saving and TT one day forwards. Repeat until a villager you want to get rid of has the thinking cloud. Talk to them and let them leave. TT forwards 1 day (they will be in boxes), save and quit, TT 1 more day and their house will be gone.

You can jump the 15-30 all at once!

Don’t even talk to the bubble head if you want to keep them. Just TT day by day until it jumps to someone you want gone. If it’s Kabuki, it may be tough for it to be him the one if he’s your most recent.
