More buildings or shops in general would be cool. But honestly the thing i want the most is more villagers allowed to live on the island. I want support for like 15+, but I don't think it would be that high. However any amount would be amazing

I would like farming to be added. Something similar to Stardew Valley... or what they had in the Sims. Since we can already craft, maybe add cooking. Bring back the food items.
Being able to customize our house exterior and maybe villager house exterior as well -- more paint options, different roof styles, etc. We should be able to choose a theme for our island and buildings change to fit the theme.
More villagers/plots would be great.
I want placeable permanent ladders instead of just inclines. Would save place and give permanent access to difficult to reach spots.
Bring back the sweet set and the cute screens - especially the aurora screen and rainbow screen.

-Bulk crafting for sure is high on my list.
-Being able to craft from items in storage. Even if it's only with the bench in your house.
-Bulk buying of items in quantities over 5. It takes so long to buy things like customization kits.
-More villager spots. If I'm not going to be bringing in eight resident houses, I should have the ability to add more villager houses.
-Rugs outside/ability to hang items from cliffs or even simple panels outside.
-More storage. There's so many cute clothing options but I can't keep many varieties of furniture if I want a nice wardrobe. I have a second resident just for storage.
-Mini-games

Being able to decorate a section of the island as you can do in your home would be great, but the island literally bends in a specific way that things would look very very strange. If you were able to see your island from the side, it would be something like this /¯¯¯¯¯\ and not flat as it appears.

I want to craft several things more easily, I want to pick more clothes in one time when I visit the sisters. I want to visit the island of other players as we could do in New Leaf long time ago. I want our villagers are more talkative, have a better personality. I want them to give us some tasks to do, visit our house, something like that.
And pass some dialogues. Visiting other island is so annoying, for example! In the beginning of the Game, Nook made me crazy, he was so boring talking all the time. You were obliged to talk to him immediately but just shut up omg.

I would like a lot of the furniture items from HHD including the 7-11 set, all the food items (would also like some beverage items that aren’t coffee or tea), the armor suit, etc. Also, while I don’t expect them to give us the opportunity to expand our house rooms as big as in HHD, I’d like the rooms to be at the very least the same size as they were in ACNL.
I’d really love to be able to cook and eat food (and drink beverages), along with having other types of food to grow or collect. We can catch frogs and turtles, why not let us collect other wildlife as well like rabbits? If the game ever included cooking, would love if there were various combinations to make certain food or you could discover a new recipe just by trying to combine some ingredients.
I’d like the villagers as well as our character to be able to interact with more furniture: for example, be able to go in the swimming pool or when clicking on a furniture item like a coffee cup or a picnic basket, show them doing an action like eating or drinking. Kinda like in HHD, but I’d like there to be a little more to it than seeing them holding a pair of utensils while hovering a food item.
I’d also like to decorate my villagers’ houses: I understand that this is not HHD, so even if there were restrictions, it would be nice to have the option.
Additionally, I’d like our houses’ rooms to be at the very least, the same size as our rooms were in NL.

•Different appearance options for the floor of the plaza (instead of brick you could have grey cobblestone like in the old games, etc)
•One or two more shops to place on the island, like Brewster's or Leif's garden shop.
•Classic characters returning, like Kapp'n and Katrina.
•The island making a return, or some other way to play mini games with friends
•More games to play with villagers, like hide-and-seek (of course!) and mini fishing/bug catching competitions

I want complete control over terraforming... I'm finding myself wanting to reset my island because of certain things I want changed. Being able to move resident services/airport/river openings etc. It's weird how the whole idea of terraforming was that you created the island exactly the way you want but then you have these odd little rules that make it harder. I hate where my peninsula is and the sizing makes it hard to work with. I don't want to lose all my progress though by resetting. 
Edit: I basically want to be able to change everything like the size of your beach area, where the rocky areas are and their size. It would give more variety to island themes, like some islands could have massive beach areas to give a desert theme.

I would love to see the friendship system changed a bit. I don't like being forced to give my villagers "gifts" just to get their photos. It makes them seem WAY WAY WAY more greedy. Like, "Hey, I will give you a special selfie of me, BUT ONLY if you GIVE me a ton of stuff first!" Like I am supposed to be best friends with Nibbles on my island right now, but because I refuse to cop out and GIVE her something in exchange for the picture I will never get it. >.>
Maybe I am missing out on something, but shouldn't I be able to get her photo regardless of whether or not I gift her something... or is it not greedy to EXPECT someone to give you something BEFORE you give them something special?
I would also love to have some special beach items, like a beach umbrella that when placed outside is a big umbrella that gives shade to a decent space under it.
I would also love to be able to get the same foods and drinks our villagers carry around, and to be able to carry them around as well. I hate feeling left out in regards to enjoying the same stuff they can enjoy.
