I saw my online friends talking about it every once in a while and finally looked it up and thought it looked cute. Turned out that my sister had been playing it too. I only had an old DS Lite and didn't want to buy a 3DS, so I picked up Wild World and really enjoyed it. I did more research on New Leaf later on and wanted it badly, so I went out and bought a used 3DS and got the game.
ACNL's kind of a creative outlet for me. There are infinite ways to play the game and so much to do! No matter what mood I'm in there's always something for me in my little village
I've got into Animal Crossing when it first came out for the Gamecube. I didn't own the game at first, but I saw friends playing it, and I thought it looked fun! I love games where you can customize and create things, like the Sims. Also, I used to play Pet Society a LOT when it was on Facebook. Pet Society was unfortunately closed, and I really needed a game to fill in that space, so I bought AC:NL as a birthday present for myself recently I'm glad I did too, the game is just as amazing as the GC version.
Like others have said, I got into AC through the one on the GameCube! I played it A LOT and I really enjoyed it. I got Wild World on its launch and I used to play it with my mom. When City Folk came out I played that one too and made a lot of progress on my save. But I've always preferred the handheld ACs so when New Leaf came out I was stoked! I bought a 3DS just so I could play it!
I still play it regularly because it's a nice, calming game and I can play it a little bit every day and there's always new things to do! I do take a break every now and then when I lose interest but I always come back eventually. It's addictive. xD
I first got hooked on AC for the GameCube when it first came out. The weird commercials caught my attention, and then I saw an ad for the game in a Nintendo brochure at a local store. That's when I realized that you get to decorate your own house and customize things. SOLD! Haha. I was completely addicted to ACG, and then to AC:WW. I did not get into AC:CF at all, I guess because of the horrible Wii controls. Then ACNL came out and it is so customizable that it was like cherubs were singing its praises. But because of my dislike for AC:CF, I didn't bother to get ACNL until January 2014. Silly, silly me.
I don't really know how I ever started playing Animal Crossing... I started with Wild World, which I really liked, so after that one I played City Folk/Let's Go To The City, which I also really liked.
Then I saw there was an Animal Crossing 3DS XL with the game pre-installed, so I gave it a go I guess I just really always liked the games. But I cannot remember why I once bought Wild World....
I haven't said before, but I was looking for a game which reminded me of Get Along Gang and Animal Crossing is the closest franchise to come in mind.
I know they tried a reboot of Get Along Gang, but the story and designs were so disappointing that is good that they cancelled.
They would made a game, but it would be mostly an action game.
Well, I'd stick with Animal Crossing: New Leaf anyway.
Played the game since I was around 6. First ever game I played on my ds, period. Still have my first ever town back on wild world, it's a mess but I don't have the heart to delete it. I just love this series I was brought up with it. I love how you can never really complete it. There isn't really a goal, there is no end so it has so much play back value! It is just so relaxing and it is enough to put a smile on my face any day x
