What do you think of Luna?

Like design-wise... I find her kinda weird and maybe the ugliest NPC but I don't dislike her. I has this feeling while dreaming today and thought I'd ask what everybody thinks of her

I have seen her compared on the internet to basically being your sleep paralysis demon so that thought is always at the back of my head but she has always felt slightly otherworldly and since you are traveling in the dream world her character has always made sense to me

I love her design! I thought she was cute in New Leaf, and her updated graphics in New Horizons make her even better.

In Japanese folklore, tapirs eat dreams. It kinda reminds me of Drowzy and Hypno from Pokemon.

Design-wise I do think she's a little strange but definitely in a cute way? Her design fits her role pretty well in my opinion.

im pretty neutral towards her opinion wise since she's pretty chill overall. doesn't ask you a poop ton of questions when you want to use her npc service so that's definitely a bonus.

though it can be confusing for me personally bc i have the same name as her lmao. when the new update was implemented and we got the bed from her in the mail, i thought i sent myself a letter + present from the past when i didn't remember doing so only to remember oh it's the luna npc and not me

I mean, she's a Baku, which is basically a Tapir, and Tapirs are not typically known for being adorable animals. But I still find her cute, and she has an otherwordly aesthetic for sure.

That seems a tad harsh? My understanding are Baku aren't traditionally seen as -evil- (they'll take your nightmares, after all) but, like a lot of Yokai, they're not always going to be overly helpful (I think they eat good dreams, too)

...Video games got me interested in Japanese mythology, okay?

Wendell, I thought...was all around more suited for the dream suite. I mean...he looked like a big sleepy boi. When I saw Wendell, I immediately thought of the "Sandman" trope. When I see Luna...she looks more like a tooth fairy or something. She's okay, I guess...I just don't really know why they created her.

Idk, she's cute I think. Plus she's not one of those NPCs I see too often. I think Flick and CJ are the least cute ones in the game.

She's the absolute best. As someone who adores the anteaters (or whatever the heck she may be) I can safely say she is one of my favorite NPCS

I like her a lot. I like how Animal Crossing has NPCs that aren’t traditionally attractive. I think she’s beautiful

I like the variety of animals used as NPCs. And the fact that she is a tapir ties into mythology of tapirs stealing dreams so it fits her. But it sucks that they usually never make villagers based on animals that are already NPCs.

Tapirs are weird as all else animals, so her looking a bit off is fine by me.

I was gonna mention how she's a yokai or based on one but @/Serabee said it already.

She has a similar presence to bakus (the Baku eats nightmares) where she won't show you a (or the same) DA if you marked it as a nightmare. (acnl, not sure if this happens in acnh) I think her design is smart, however culturally, a lot of people will not get it.

I think Luna gives off a dreamy, sorta massage therapist vibe. There's a nice calm demeanor about her especially with her gyroid humidifier. It works.

Also, I dont want every character to be Hello Kitty-fied where everything has to be super cute.

I don't really have a strong emotion towards her, she's pretty okay. I do believe she fits the calm and peaceful vibe of dreaming, though.

I don't think she's very cute but I appreciate the work she does so I like her.
