I don't really think apophis would really do that much damage. According to wikipedia it's only 2 degrees fahrenheit hot and it's barely 1/5 of a mile wide. That's about a street block long.

Anything that big with 60 000 miles per hour can kill alot, and I mean ALOT of people. When landing in the ocean, it could cause huge Tsunami waves, and possibly earthquakes. If it hit a country, alot of people will die.

And I dunno, maybe we'll retrograde, implode, and turn into small concentrated utopian societies to avoid mistakes of the past. Or we can just crawl over everything on earth and turn it into a wasteland. Maybe the world will be completely virtualized. Maybe nothing will really change at all and we'll just be at a stalemate for development and slowly eat away at our resources.

I wonder if we'll ever find a way to create a near-perfect society hm

I am going to be pessimistic, but there won't be much around here. Animals would be practically all instinct because of the human being's lack of responsibility. If the whole world was consuming like the USA , we'd need 4.5 planets. People over consume like leaving the water running for several minutes while brushing their teeth. Seriously, do you need 12 damn litters to brush your teeth??? That is enough water for someone who lives in a poorer country to survive for a day.
In 3000 I doubt there'll be life, people are really spoiled brats and don't realize how the planet is slowing digging its grave.
