What do you think about Fortnite ?

I have been playing it for a while on PS4 and I have to say I have mixed feelings. On one hand it's one of my favorite games right now but on the other it makes me mad ( i'm trash at it ). I'm curious to see your answers.

I can understand why the hype train for fortnite is so big, but it's a bad game. It's repetitive and annoying. It's only fun when playing with your friends just to **** around, but it's nothing more than a casual game.

I understand why it would be enjoyable, I played the first battle royale type games back with Minecraft's hunger games servers, but I feel this is just a band wagon for sheep. I hate things that people do just because others are doing it (no matter how good it actually is). It's just like game of thrones and Pokemon go, I found that people who would've never ever been interested in those things were randomly super into it all of a sudden and they were researching all the ins and outs of it...

It just makes me have less faith in humanity if we just do stuff because we're heavily influenced and seduced by our pairs.

If you like overwatch for the graphics, you'll really like Fortnite. It's super vibrant and colorful. The environmental graphics is what keeps me playing. The character design and skins are trash though imo

I think its a lame fad tbh. Everything I've watched and seen about it doesn't seem interesting, it only reminds me of the overhype for Pokemon GO (which eventually died out).

But just cause I hate it doesn't mean it's a bad game. It's just not my type.

used to play a lot, racked up a lot of wins, but then they kept adding new stuff to lower skill, so it isn't just about how good you shoot, it's about all these random aspects and i'm not a fan.

The game in itself doesn't look really bad but the community is just SO TOXIC like all the people I hate play that game.
I think the orignial Fortnite game (not battle royale) looked better honestly.

I bet 100 bucks that if that game wasn't free none would play it.

I think the game tries to ride on too many trends. It rode on the trend of battle royales, it rode on the trend of dancing (from Overwatch), it rode on the trend of the dab, rode on the trend of movies, and many more. To be perfectly honest, all these trends weren't good therefore causing an EXTREMELY toxic fanbase. I can't play it without having to take a 3 hour long cold shower afterwards.

Otherwise, the gameplay is decent and the building addition is unique but overall PUBG did it better, even without building.

Personally I am not a fan.

I loved playing PUBG. I have a lot of fun memories with friends playing this game. However, my friends now don't play much anymore or at all, and the servers I play on are riddled with cheaters more than I have ever noticed before.

I installed Fortnite. I wanted to like it. I tried to enjoy it. But I couldn't.

Not because I think it's bad. I just don't enjoy the building aspect of the game, and don't like how fast paced it is. I couldn't make myself enjoy it, and I wasn't getting used to it. It's just not the Battle Royal game for me.

I don't play either game now. I'm spending more time playing ACNL and soon getting into Stardew Valley.

I downloaded it for my Switch yesterday and played for 2 or 3 hours. It's pretty fun with friends but I don't see myself playing it a lot alone. Hopefully they'll add the Save the World mode from other versions to the Switch someday as I would love to actually build huge forts and kill off those zombie things.

On it's own, I'm not a fan. It's not fun to land somewhere and just instantly get shotgunned in the face. The randomness factor outweighs the skill factor imo and it's not fun to me. It can be fun with friends, but to be fair, just about anything can be fun with friends, so this isn't really a point in Fortnite's favor.
