Whoa, the title sounds rude >-<
Just a heads-up, it's not meant to be rude xD
I'm just curious... Pok?mon is such a popular game, and so is Zelda, but I've never really understood what people see in it... maybe I will come to understand and get into them myself ^^
Or maybe I'm just the sort of person who prefers games where I get to be creative, and AC is one of them...I don't know!
So, what do you see in Pok?mon? What made you play it? I'm curious to read your answers! :)

You capture adorable little animals and force them to fight each other. What's not to like?

Plus it's a turn based RPG. I've always liked those types of games.

I think it's part nostalgia, but also just... the general mood of the games? I like the concept of starting a journey, capturing these lil friends and pitting them against others. I really like developing my team and exploring the story, too. It has its flaws obviously, but it's just a game that makes me happy.

I think for pokemon it can be so personalized that people like making different teams and fighting so many different people now across the world... and for both each is a long journey/ quest where you have one big goal to achieve... it gets you with the sense of adventure and going out on your own and a freedom too. Each have such expansive worlds to explore and make your own that it appeals to a lot of people. Not to mention each have really great and relatable characters that make the journey even more personalized

that being said... not everyone looks for that in games, and if you are the slim percentage that doesn't relate at all to anything to do with it, then I can see why you wouldn't get it

I think nostalgia is part of the reason it's still so popular. Even for newer fans, the fact it's already such a successful series will be catching people's eyes and making them want to see what all the fuss is about. So, in short, older fans keeping it popular is what makes newer fans make it popular. I myself aren't that interested in the series, though I do enjoy playing from time to time.

I see friendship

I like the adventure!
I don't know how to explain it, but I always thought it was cool how you start with one small Pokemon and grow into something more advanced. I think It's really addicting, too. Something about it makes you want to play it for ages.

I don't have much nostalgia with it, besides playing some of the older games with my brother, because I didn't really start playing Pokemon until sometime in 2010 or so, and I'm also a younger player.

Not sure if any of that made sense, hope it did, lol.

I don't... really see anything in it anymore. but I've got good memories with the second and third gen games. they're okay to pick up and replay every once in a while.

For me, it'd be nostalgia and the surprise of finding shinies and stuff.

I'm into competitive battles for pokemon so I'm always breeding/IV/EV training/hunting for shinies etc. It's always a nice surprise to see that sparkle when you walk into a grass and stumble upon a shiny

I'm not sure. Maybe it's because there are so many different Pokemon you can catch, so many ways to stylize your team and besides, back in 1995, I don't think there was a game like it before. A game where you can capture the monsters your fight, put them on your team, battle others, trade, evolve your team.. It's something you don't see in every game.

I've just always liked the idea of bonding with your pokemon, like you could take any type of animal and train them to connect to your spirit in a way, even though that only happens with more intelligent animals. And I ignore the fact that it's like an abusive dogfight lol.

It could be nostalgia, but the fact that I play and don't stick to all the old pokemon makes me think it's not just that. I mean hawlucha is a new pokemon and I can honestly say it's tied as my #1 with two older favorites of mine (machoke/machamp line and sableye). So I'm confident they can churn out some pokemon every gen that I'm going to like and want on my team.

And I used to like competitive before everyone who has the time to get all those good IV pokemon will always beat those who don't have the time for that kind of thing.

I like catching and making friends with your Pokemon and going on an adventure exploring the regions.

That's literally it. xD

It was a part of my childhood! And I am a very big animal lover so i suppose that has something to do with it too lol! I wanted to he nurse joy when I grew up xD
