What do you do with gifts from villagers?

To add to the “what do you do with (insert thing here)” topics lately, I’m genuinely curious. What do you do with the gifts from your villagers? If I happen to receive something as a gift from one of my villagers, I feel bad selling it. It’s like it has some sentimental value to it because a villager was thinking of me or bought it for me. If I cannot use it, I throw it in storage and hold on to it. My storage is crowded as it is, but I just can’t bring myself to sell gifts from villagers. I’m wondering if others feel the same way?

I always get a lot of gifts from my jock type islanders which is always workout clothing or workout machines that do not match my aesthetic at all or my islands haha So what I usually do is sell the item then use the money to buy them a gift they would like

unless it’s something that i like or will use (or if it’s a new 2.0 furniture item), i always sell their gifts or throw them away. though, i do keep the gifts and music they give me when i visit their house, or they visit mine, for some reason.

I sell them unless they give me something good. I don't really want to hold onto endless jockey uniforms, fitness tanks, instant muscles suits and bath towel wraps haha

whenever villagers give me clothing they are almost always one of these lol.

I usually just sell them if I don’t like it because there’s really no point in keeping it. If it’s something I do like, I will keep it. I rarely hold onto them though because they’re always stuff like instant muscle suits, bright pink fitness wear, or bath towel wraps. I did notice however that a couple of my lazy villagers gave me really cute sweaters.

I guess I'm a hoarder, but it definitely helps when someone is looking for a particular item and I can find it immediately in my inventory!

Perhaps I'm rude for doing so, but I sell my villagers gifts, I feel relieved to know my villagers tell me they won't be mad at me if I discard their gifts they randomly give me, sense I don't think it feels right to pressure someone into keeping something they gave you.

Depends on what they give me. Sometimes they give me some nice things. I sell whatever I won’t use.

i sell them all. even photos now, since i've had so many duplicates at this point. the only time i don't is if they give me something either new or that i don't have all the color variations of. if that's the case, i take it to cyrus to make sure i have all the versions catalogued then either sell it or, if it's something cute that i might use later, throw it into storage.

Since I started playing, I've made a fun(at least for me) solo game out of villager gifts: I play gift telephone! First, I have to get a random gift from a villager. If I give them something first, it doesn't count. Then I try to do the following: I give what I got as a gift to another villager to receive something and give that to someone else. The last villager to get a gift is the one who initially gave me one in the first place. If I can get through all 10 of my villagers in a day I win! What do I win? Nothing but a fun time. It's a challenge for me at least. I can usually win, but sometimes when I give a villager a gift I don't get anything back, so its an auto-loss. Either way, it gives me something fun to do with villager gifts I don't want.

I usually keep it if its something I like, then maybe I sell or give it away If i already have it or dont want it

most of the time i get given clothing, so i always check to see if i would like to put it in my wardrobe (sadly thats not often) and i do try match the outfit if it would go with one of my villagers personality.

If im given furniture depending on what it is i would see if any other villagers house would look nice with the piece in their house, if not its mostly in the recycle bin (trash can)

Depends on what it is. If it's something I feel would fit well with my current style or for some project I have planned, I'll keep it. If it doesn't fit with anything but might in the future I'll just throw it in storage. If it's something that I know I'll never use/don't like/is just utterly useless I'll either sell it or toss it. Occasionally I'll keep something and give it to another villager as a gift. It all just depends, honestly.
