I've been battling depression for years now and recently have had panic attacks and there have been a lot of things that took my mind of all the bad things in my head. I draw, play AC, vent on the notepad in my tablet, and listen to music. What do you do? Maybe I'll try something new :)

Poetry used to help me a lot, pretty much anything where I get to make something helps me to be honest, so yeah painting drawing, sculpting. I even enjoy baking, and when you make breads it's even funner because you get to beat the bread up. XD But yeah, in my opinion creative outlets are the most helpful. Also a nice warm bath, lots of candles, and some soft music is terrific for anxiety.

gardening is my fave thing to do, such a calming thing to do

I do a lot of drawings and take walks (i usually take walks at the beach) if I want to take my mind off of things. With walks in particular, I've seen studies that it can help you overcome depression, so I always try to make sure to do more of it nowadays.

Nothing's ever managed to "get my mind off things" if I'm just a little sad or angry I'll do the usual: play games, colour, listen to music, watch something but I've never found anything that actually takes my mind of things if I'm having a panic attack or feeling super bad, except message one person I guess, I also walk but that doesn't usually really take my mind of things completely, but walking is nice.

usually watching something really mindless, goofy/happy on netflix helps me the most. sometimes even when I'm playing a game I still can think about other things in the back of my mind -

I watch anime/cartoons/Youtube videos, write fanfiction, go for a walk, play with my cat, talk to friends, play video games, Google random things to research about (tv tropes is a good place), or I even clean my room. Cleaning helps make me think I accomplished something, even if it is small. That is also why personal hygiene, such as shaving, showering, taking a bath, cutting my nails, making my hair nice, etc helps a ton. I suffered with depression last year for the entire first semester of first year and I would legit skip class and just decide to sleep in instead. I ended up failing one class and had to retake it the following year. Dont end up like me folks.

And when I said cleaning my room, I dont clean the ENTIRE thing. Just do a section, even if it is to just get those dirty clothes off the floor. You will feel much more motivated after accomplishing that small task.

Did you draw your avatar? It looks so cute :'D

I usually play violin or text my friends about my frustrations.

Colouring. It's the one thing that absorbs my full attention to a point where I forget whatever was bothering me and just become completely immersed in the activity.

No I didn't but I have drawn it before for a thing in art and got a warning cause I made its eyes bloodshot but aNYWAY I want to learn how to play violin but step one is to convince my parents to get me a violin. They hate noise.

I colour a lot in the "adult" stress relief colouring books and it helps a lot besides the fact that my mom gets upset if I colour one of the pictures she wanted to do and then I feel bad. Also THANK YOU FOR SPELLING COLOUR CORRECTLY OMG

i drink tea , listen to music , sometimes go on youtube for a bit or draw , and take a nap

writing stories. when i write stories my mind gets taken off of my world and i focus on creating another.

Petting my cats or play wrestling my dog, listening to music, rock climbing/ getting a thorough workout and playing New Leaf.
