What do the mushrooms do?

I just got the game yesterday. (YAY)

And today i collected like 6 mushrooms. Im afraid to throw them out, are they used for anything?

sell them! if you get lucky there will be some that sells for 10,000 bells

nope, but sometimes if you pick up a mushroom it'll be piece of furniture.

Yeah there's one that sells for a lot of Bells. And sometimes they turn out to be mushroom furniture.

no once you pick it up it says oh i thought it was a mushroom but it turned out to be a mush tv or something so far i have the mush tv and the forest rug thing
