What did you guys do on halloween in your towns?

This was my first Halloween in this game so I collected all the pumpkin heads, scared all my villagers, almost got the entire creepy set (except for the creepy cauldron), and gave out any leftover candy I had to villagers wandering outside since I had a lot. I bought the entire spooky set from T&T Emporium so I didn't bother giving regular candy to Jack.

I've been playing for 3 years and have collected 3 sets of everything including the patched clothing.
This year I had fun scaring all the villagers, playing games and than giving them candy. I just bought a few pieces of candy and the villagers gave me abunch when I played rock, paper, scissors. If you are low on candy the game lets you win.

My main town is one day ahead so I can play event with the villagers and than enjoy the holiday. On Halloween Night I had tired villagers from the day before. Got three invites to sit on the bench while we watched Dr. Who.

I just got chased around by my villagers in their costumes that all looked the same and I only has once piece of candy to start with, even when I had a lot of candy I refused to give it to them, but later on I did to clear out my pockets and found out some pretty valuable information. XD (villager weaknesses haha). I got 5 lollipops too though I wish I had more. ;w; They look so nice like please I'll take 100 all the way lololol. I gave one to Jack and he gave me a creepy crystal or whatever. XD
The villagers got pretty annoying after a while though and I hate the chance games like made you look and Rock Paper Scissors cuz there's no guaranteed way to win so it's like eww booo you suck lol. I got a bunch of old wallpaper and old flooring I had to dispose of as well, but other than that I didn't do much haha.

I made a checklist of every exclusive Halloween item and didn't stop Trick or Treating until I had all the Creepy Set, finished off the Spooky Series, got all the Pumpkin Heads, Patched Clothing, Old Wallpaper/Flooring, and Jack-in-the-Box. Curse my completionist nature! It took me about two hours to get everything (I didn't look up what masks my villagers were afraid of online, I wanted to play the game "properly")

I didn't take part in the Halloween event this year because my town's currently stuck in April. But I was playing by real time last year, and I basically just went with the events! I spent October collecting the masks and some candies here and there. On the actual day, I collected a lot of the furniture, but I ended up just selling them to make space in my museum months later. It was fun though, but after a while, I just started avoiding villagers when trying to find Jack lmao.

Well, I'm a crosser with a BAD time traveling habit, so I was already in like, what December by the time it was Halloween in reality XD

I threw a costume party!

This being my second Halloween in my main town of Ruddyoak, I'd already collected all of the creepy, spooky, patched, pumpkin head, etc. items. I decided to celebrate differently this year, so I dedicated one of my museum rooms to a Halloween costume party for my best friend and myself. I laid out wrapped gifts (beans, sparklers, tweeters, ballroom masks, and sparkling cider), and we spent time in the party room, my other museum exhibits and the official exhibits, main street so we could use the outdoor items, and Club LOL (in my town it's 2014, so it wasn't a K.K. Slider night). We avoided the actual town area, because Lopez kept waiting by the train tracks to trick us, and my friend didn't want her costume ruined. ;)

The only thing I wish we could have done was get our fortunes told, but I've never bothered to build Katrina's shop.

(Um...I was originally going to be a banana, but I didn't like the dress I made, and wound up being Carmen Miranda, kind of.)

If you visit my dream town (Lantern, Mayor Mitsuko) I have a Halloween party in my basement!

I got a lot of creepy items, gave candy, played games & sometimes lost on purpose to collect the patchwork clothes. I ran back to my house each time I got a new thing & added it to my Halloween room. So it's a mish-mash of the original design & things I found during the night!

I also left out a bunch of costumes to dress up in near my tree, and my town is worth visiting--cool variety of villagers, and a lot of work went into my town.
It's got hand-made paths & designs so Wendell is there--I also have a different style to many QR towns so it's something different.

VM after you come see the party & tell me how it went! :)

* Basement party in Mitsuko's house, other homes worth looking at too.

I am not the only person playing in my town. :)

I dedicated the actual day of Halloween to watching horror movies, so I didn't play any Animal Crossing New Leaf that day. I'm also a time traveler, so the date in my game is actually in December as of now. On or around the day before Halloween, though, I constructed the windmill Public Works Project in homage to the windmill that the townsfolk set fire to in the 1931 Universal Monster movie Frankenstein. Just today I set up torches in front of the windmill to go along with that idea.

That said, for the day of Halloween in the game that I did a while back, I rearranged one of my rooms and filled it with all of the Spooky furniture. I also did the obligatory trick-or-treating and playing games with villagers to earn candy so I could farm Jack for Creepy set items. I intend to dedicate a room to the Creepy set, but I need a bunch more of the grave stones.

I did all of those things except gt the Pumpkin heads. How do you get those?

You have to lose to/get tricked by a villager when you are not wearing a hat of any sort. They'll 'punish' you by giving you a pumpkin head of the same color they are wearing, IIRC.

I mainly just played with the villagers and got a few pumpkin heads and some patched dresses. Then I listened to K.K Synth at Club LOL for the spoopyness

Ahhh! I didn't know that. That's so easy!
I was wearing a hairclip & then the patched hat for about 3hrs collecting all the creepy set except the coffin & most of the patched clothes except the pants.
D'oh!

Would everyone agree that it could take a solid 2-3hrs if you set out to collect every item?

That's how long I spent on it, and there are still a couple of items missing.

The first year it took me along time to figure things out.
In my newest town I played a month ago and it took about 35 minutes to get everything. Just lost all the games so the patching could get done right away, pumpkin head next and than worked on the Jack n Box.
All 10 lollipops were done in two save/quits. The rest of the time was waiting for Jack to appear.
