what counts as trash?

i got the 'living on a landfill' comment today and im not sure why, since nothing has rly changed in my town?? there are a few ores, mushrooms and bamboo shoots on the floor but they've been there for ages and i only got this yesterday. any help would be appreciated <3

The ore would count.
Anything that doesn't naturally spawn on the ground, or beach, can affect your status.

If you dig up a fossil, and leave it unburied, it counts as junk.

I think you're allowed 6 (I think?) non natural items by 6.00PM.
More than that, and you will get the landfill comment.

unfortunately i don't think the game isn't like it was in city folk, where you could counteract junk items with more trees and flowers in the same area. it used to be one piece of "junk" (over the old limit of 8) could be counteracted with 6 flowers and 2 trees in the same acre.

if you want to keep things outside without getting complaints from town hall you could bury them. that's what i did with my dream town gifts, i have a dig site full of clothes and a few silver tools for anyone visiting my dream town. they can dress up and i can avoid landfill complaints!

anything other than natural stuff, as said above (flowers, clovers, fruit (?), etc)

you can't have more than 5 non-natural things on the floor, or isabelle will get mad
