What are your worst ecounters with people on the Island?

I wouldn't say It was an encounter for me, but this has just happened and It's safe to say I'm a little mad about it. My younger cousin has a little house of his own on my game and he's unlocked the club tortimer so he's free to meet other people. He met a girl name CuteCake and she asked him to go to 'his' town, and just a few minutes ago I loaded up my character and found ALL of my bush starts gone, my orders that were ready to be picked up by other people were gone, and even a fair amount of my hybrids missing.

I can't be the only one who's been theived from by people from the Island. Has this happened to anyone else?

Honestly, I hate people who do that. It's so unfair, and espeically when they cut down everything on the island.

Right. It's mainly the reason I don't visit the club tortimer island, it's definitely not safe to go beetle catching or fishing there >.> Considering they reset ridiculous amounts of times.

Lol, I think everyone's had multiple bad encounters. A couple of things that happened to me: Japanese girl got angry that we (another girl and I) weren't replying to her (she was typing in only Japanese, and USA doesn't have hiragana keyboards >:c) , and started hitting us with axes, digging holes around us, and starting tours. I asked the girl who was American if she had caught anything, and she said no. So, I proceeded to hit the power button on my DS (I have a N3DS, so no wifi switch), and that was the end of that.

Next, a guy who said he was 12 introduced himself by saying to me 'I'm looking for a girlfriend'. After I told him he shouldn't do things like that over the internet, he started getting creepily morbid. He started telling a joke, and before he could get to the punchline, I hit the 'go home now' option with Leilani.

I had a slightly funny experience where a guy was on this island for literally 2+ hours, and only moved every once in a while, very slightly. I just set my DS there, and did other stuff, and we both were on that island for 2 hours. He never even said anything, so I just disconnected. It was kind of weird, actually.

I did meet a person on there who almost immediately asked to go to my town, Lol. I thought he would try to wreck it, but surprisingly didn't, and was really nice. We now visit each other's towns every week or so.

I'm sorry your things got stolen! Hopefully you can recover the items soon.

I had something similar happen to me, someone I met on the Island wanted see my town. At this point I had never had anyone else visit my town so I though why not. During their rather long visit (about 4 hours) I needed to go AFK for a bit only to return to find literally all my trees had been stripped, most of my Jacobs Ladders were missing, a good amount of hybrids were gone and all fossils and gyroids taken as well. It was pure luck that I didn't happen to have any items lying around the town that day. Then to top it all off my villagers keep talking about this person saying how they want to spend more time with them and become good friends.

This happened a few nights ago.
I was playing as one of my girl characters in a nice sorta exotic (not in an icky way) dress.
It was like 10 pm, I was wandering around and Jacques runs over and begs me to catch him a butterfly. I agreed, and headed to a public island to get a butterfly as it was night and I have no flowers on my own island. I use my island for beetle hunting and the butterflies are annoying since they fill up my "bug quota" so beetles don't spawn much. Anyways.

So I get in and go to borrow the net. This guy comes over and says I look like a queen with that dress on and that I'm cute. I thank him and go on to look for the butterfly. He follows, and asks if I have a boyfriend.
I wrote back "Why?" and he flounders a bit and says nevermind. I catch the butterfly and say I'm heading out since that's all I came for.
He then asks if I want to trade friend codes with him. I say no thanks and head in. He follows, tells me he's 17 and asks again to trade FC's. I tell him no thanks (and that I'm 23) and leave.

After I get back, I find Jacques and give him the butterfly. You know what he gave me after I handed him the pretty bug? An orange traffic cone.
Yeah, I went to bed after that. The things I go through for my villagers.....

I imagine that's pretty tame compared to some people, but I'm not a social gamer so I don't go on the public island beyond item hunting or looking for something specific like a butterfly. I'll play for a little bit with people I know but other then that, I keep to myself since I don't like having to be around creepers like that online.
If I wanna meet nice people that also play ACNL, I just come here. XD Ya'll are a nice bunch of folk.

I luckily havent had any really bad encounters. But I have had several where I had to deal with some really dumb people :/ I had several strangers ask me personal questions. This one guy was asking me for my last name and address. I obviously didnt give it to him but still..who on earh would ask a complete stranger that??

Also Ive had many times where the person wouldnt let me leave. That was super annoying. I didnt even bother to ask them to stop, I just turned my 3ds off and restarted. I dont have tolerance for annoying people like that.

These are the reasons I dont go on Club Tortimer..people are ..interesting.

Worst experience was when I went fishing and caught new fish in CT...then this guy comes and trolls. When after 20 minutes of telling him to stop he reset. My fish were gone. Never went fishing in CT after that.
Yesterday I went to CT and someone's ID card quote was like 16 years old with 16 inch.... I'm like wow, generations getting worse. He was nice though o.o And this crazy girl kept asking if she could visit our town. I kindly rejected her because I don't trust anyone from CT due to bad stories I've heard.

The first time i ever went on the public island a (what i'm guessing was) kid kept trying to talk to me and bc i didn't want to do tours or exchange friendcodes he kept running behind me and scaring peoples and saying "d*cks in your mouth" over and over. Very unpleasant.

Oh and the same kid literally kept his menu open so i couldn't go home. It was really upsetting, idk why people are so mean.

I have people come up to me ALLLLL the time asking for my gold rose or the best is when they're like "i'll give you 10k for your dress" and i sit there trying to explain its a QR code and they don't know what QR codes are and i just have to go back to my town sometimes lol

If I feel that things are going this way - blocking me from leaving etc, I never engage, just flip wifi switch fast.
That's OK when I'm on my original 3ds but I have a new 3ds XL which doesn't have a wifi switch - yes I know you can power off, but I would rather just turn off my router - its been pointed out that that takes the internet out for everyone in the house - for me its usually only me on it, - not actually done it so not sure if it would actually work!

One poster here talked about needing a butterfly and their own island had no flowers: can still use your own island - go on a tour, collect a few, plant them, enter & exit the hut, & voila you should get butterflies (at night its the Emperor).

I constantly get stuck with players asking how old i am and saying they want a boyfriend. some will cut wifi when i tell them not interested. otherwise, hasn't been too bad, the bell beggars are annoying but only mildly so. one time a girl was begging me and another player for bells and saying she was poor whilst she was wearing a royal crown on her head-- Hello,, you have a million bells item on your person, ya mooch!

as far as creepy behavior goes, haven't really encountered any. You guys do realize there's a feature where you can block certain users from ever appearing with you at the island again, right?

Ive had same experience before where soembody was jhust standing there at the island (although i didnt hang out here for 2 hours...). I presumed they were afk, or in "best friend" chat/text with somebody who wasn't there.

I let one person come to my town that i met at the island, she was a Japanese player who was really nice, need to get back in touch with her.

The worst I had was a person who got mad that I wanted to go home (I always announce when I'm planning to leave as a courtesy) and they started up a tour which barred me from leaving. I had been on the island with them for a while, they were quiet so I was catching bugs. I had a full basket so it was frustrating to lose all of those bells. But I know how to get around that now.

Otherwise I get a lot of beggars but I just ignore them and do my thing. If people aren't being courteous then I won't announce when I'm leaving, just swim for a bit so they don't know where I am and then I can sneak away without them knowing. Or start a tour to save my basket and if they join me I just disconnect.

Usually my time on the island is fine. I use the above method to safe guard my progress so if people are being jerks it doesn't really effect me. And I have made some friends on the island and had some nice conversations, so I think it's worth going to the island.
