there’s a considerable amount of space that is lost in new horizons expansion. the side rooms can never get expanded, and the top floor and basement are more rectangular, and the price keeps getting up.

what are your thoughts about this?

I don't know what to do with these tiny rooms. And I'm still a little mad the game gave me a big room and then ruined it with doors and there's no way to get a room like this again.

i don't really mind the room sizes... but i do wish you could choose which rooms you want added when upgrading. and i know a lot of people wish that the storage size wasn't linked to how many rooms you had. (i know a lot of people like having smaller houses, but still want the storage space!)

The changes from the series' previous standard feel unnecessary and too restrictive. The second floor and basement in particular feel awkward.

I bounce between loving the tiny room and hating the tiny rooms. I like them because they are cozy and easy to fill. I dislike them because they can feel cramped and can be easy to complete.

i am fully expanded (ty based stalk market) and i'm pretty meh on it. wish i could have chosen which rooms to build at each step. personally i like the attic/basement shape, since it sorta (not completely) matches the shape of the house itself with the expanded left/right rooms, and they are great for storing fish & insects while i wait for cj/flick. all together could be worse i suppose... not super satisfied but i did like that attic/basement didnt have to expanded like in NL

Not enough expansions, rooms are really tiny, the big room gets ruined, hm what else to rant about?

i wish we could choose which rooms we wanted, instead of having to god backroad first and so on. i didn’t even want a back room :(

Maybe they really wanted to encourage players to decorate outside? Reminds me of how WW had a bigger house than CF did... Personally I'm fine with it. Smaller and different-shaped spaces create a different design challenge. I can effectively use my upstairs like a tiny studio flat minus a bathroom.

And frankly I'm happy with the storage space, it's a welcome upgrade from the old system. The game may not have been designed for people to hoard every furniture set and thing out there, but still, 1600 is a lot. I use up like 400 of it from furniture, clothes, mats?

It's weird that our house has such small side rooms, but when you go to Harv's island they are bigger, which makes planning out ideas annoying :[

I wanted to recreate a lot of my rooms from NL, like I had a huge kitchen and I wanted that again but settled for a tiny one ://

I hate it. 🙃
I have too much lovely furniture (rugs and wall mounted that cant go outside...) that I want to put in the rooms and just can't.
I finally broke down and made two alt characters who's rooms I got filled fairly quickly.

Yes, piggybacking off of this idea, I kind of wish you'd gotten to choose the shape of your room too! Kind of like how in Happy Home you had the option to choose the layout of the rooms of the houses you were building! That would've been nice. I'm also bummed by the lack exterior options and what not too :( I loved the mush roof..

I think there will be more upgrades. I think even in the last upgrade when you pay it off, Tom says something like "I bet you were thinking there was another upgrade but that's all I can do for you!" (Forgot exact words) Like why would they even mention not having another upgrade in that way unless eventually there would be more upgrades? They could have just said "yay you've finally paid off your house! Congrats!"

I'm not a big fan of the rectangular shaped upstairs and basement and that we can't pick which room we want to upgrade (I like a smaller room to be a bathroom) but other than that, I don't mind it.

I really hate the layout of the upper floor and the basement. They're so wide, who needs that? I just finished my bedroom upstairs and now I need a rug because it's just too weird without it.

Wish you can choose the size. I love the unique size of the upstairs and basement, it's great, but I know it's not for everyone. I wish to increase the size of two of my side rooms, but only those two. I like the small size for my greenhouse room, but would like a bigger size for the study and secret room. Having options is the best way to go about it. Not everyone wants the size that we get.

Having three doorways in the main room really sucks for decorating. I don't even use the side rooms much anyway.
