What are NMT and IGB?

I keep seeing these in other forums for when people are trying to sell things and I have no clear idea what they are (other than some form of currency?), how you get them or why people want them.

Can someone explain it to me, please?

NMT are Nook Mile Tickets. IGBs are In-Game Bells. You can earn NMTs by doing your daily tasks. You can earn IGBs by selling fruit, furniture, etc.

Well, you can earn Nook Miles to buy the NMTs by doing daily tasks- you don't earn the tickets themselves, those have to be bought from the little kiosk at Resident Services.

There's also TBT- the forum currency (also called bells, hence why people specify "in game bells"). You mainly earn it by posting.
