Nearing the end of a very tough year, the citizens of The Bell Tree gathered together in the village plaza for their annual holiday party. But it was a cold, dark, and cloudy night, reminding them of the difficulties they faced while offering no signs of change.

Determined to help improve the mood, the wise (and very lively and healthy) Tortimer had an idea! He set up his retro stereo towards the back of the plaza and played one of his favorite songs of the season. The villagers looked up and began to listen.

Suddenly, someone in the group started humming along to the tune. More and more villagers slowly joined in with their own renditions of hums, lalas, and doodoodoodoo doo dadada doodoo doodadada doo da doos. It was at that very moment when a single star shone through the clouds, illuminating a small snowflake in the sky. The little sign of hope filled their hearts with warmth and happiness. The sounds of the joyful singing echoed beyond the village, piercing through the snowy trees of the forest, where it was heard by someone special in particular!

Inspired by the singing, Jingle, the gift-giving reindeer, entered the village and approached plaza. The villagers cheered as he entered and passed him a cup of coffee freshly brewed by Brewster (whose business was not only still running, but booming thanks to an increase in demand for delivery and curbside pickup, two areas very familiar to a pigeon).

Jingle spoke to the crowd, "I have come here to give you the best gift of all! The joy of giving itself!" The crowd cheered again, as they knew exactly what it meant!

Introduction

Welcome to TBT's Season of Giving! In the true spirit of Christmas and the holidays, this event is centered around giving gifts to others! Earn snowflakes by participating in our eight activities and spend them on any of the five presents in the shop. Unlike in our other events, these presents can't be purchased for yourself, but can only be gifted to your friends or other TBT members. These presents are also wrapped, so you can't see the collectibles inside until after the event concludes, Christmas night at 7:00 PM EST!

Jingle's Sled: Spend Your Snowflakes!

This is actually the second time we're doing a gifting-based event, after Jingle's Jolly Jamboree in 2015. Our presents may look familiar to those who were around back then, but don't worry, we're only reusing the wrapping paper! The five collectibles wrapped inside will be a complete mystery until Christmas night. One difference this time is that all of these gifts cost the same amount of snowflakes, making it even more of a mystery!

Special Snowflake: Event staff favorite reward

Head over to the shop to spend your snowflake currency on any of these gifts. Also, as we pointed out with the Christmas Lights collectible, please remember to purchase items of the same type for only one person at a time when checking out. There is currently an issue where the same item will be combined into one line in your cart.

Top Gift Givers Leaderboards

Each day, the top gift giver from the last 24 hours will be rewarded with a prestigious gift-giver title and a colorful username that will last until early January. You will receive points based on the snowflake-value of the gifts you give. For example, if you give two gifts in a day you'll have 40 points when the leaderboard is posted that night. The gift-giver with the most points will receive the prestigious gift-giver title of that day, but you can only win once. If there's a tie, we'll look at the amount of Christmas Lights the tied users gave in the last 24 hours. If there's another tie, we'll base it on the amount of Christmas Lights given all month.

The leaderboards will be posted each day, shortly after 7:00 PM EST in the official Top Gift Givers Leaderboard thread. Let's take a look at this year's gift-giver titles and colors:

December 15th: One Wise Man
December 16th: Scrooge Redeemed
December 17th: The Nisse
December 18th: Mary Hatch Bailey
December 19th: Uncle Drosselmeyer
December 20th: La Befana
December 21st: The Little Drummer Boy
December 22nd: Olaf the Warm Hug Giver
December 23rd: Cindy Lou Who
December 24th: Julbock the Yule Goat
December 25th: Father Christmas

TBT's Pledge for Charity

Giving is the theme of this event and we'd like to do something extra this year. The Bell Tree will donate money to five different charities that support five different causes. This will be directly tied into the event. With every collectible gift you send, TBT will donate one cent for its worth in snowflakes. That means five gifted collectibles will result in a dollar given to charity. Each gift is tied to a specific charity.

Save the Children
Humanitarian Aid / Children
Red Holiday Gift

Equal Justice Initiative
Civil Rights
Green Holiday Gift

The Trevor Project
LGBTQ / Suicide Prevention
Blue Holiday Gift

Active Minds
Mental Health
Pink Holiday Gift

RedRover
Animal Welfare
Orange Holiday Gift

We would also like to encourage the members of our community to donate to these causes or other charities of your choice, if you are able to. With each daily gift giver leaderboard posted, we will also include the amount of money raised for each charity on that day. If you would like to add to the daily totals we post, please email the donation email confirmation you receive from the charity to tbt@belltreeforums.com. Let's all do our best this year to help those in need!

Events: Earn Your Snowflakes!

Snowflakes can be earned in each of these events, so be sure to check each thread for information about each one! Also check out the Snowflake Tracker thread for help keeping track of your earned snowflakes.

l know l won't be able to help with donations and not be part of every event. but l do like the winter theme.
just wanna say, some of information is confusing to me

the memories of jingle’s jolly jamboree event 🥺 BUT WOOO so excited for this ahhh

Gotta say, the title "Scrooge Redeemed" would be perfect for me, but I doubt I can get on the leaderboard for it haha.

Really excited to see what's inside those presents. Maybe I'll try shaking them, guessing what's inside, like I did when I was a kid. 👀

Perhaps I read to fast in sheer excitement, but how do I give gifts??I have so many people I want to give gifts too!

After the presents open up, are they going to be tradeable right away?
Yes, they will become re-giftable when they open.

Was wondering this as well!

Also, is it ok to send multiple different colored presents to one person?
You can send the presents to whoever you like. If you wanted to send fifteen all to a single person then no one is stopping you (however your virtual wallet might).

I kinda wish I looked closer and saved my snowflakes to try for “the Nisse”, as my dad has been talking to us about the Christmas Tomte as of late (he’s gotten one and I reference it in my signature). Ah well, I’m just happy to give out gifts, regardless if I get a fancy title!

Hi,
Have a quick question, since I do not own Horizons, and two of the events are based in Horizons, would it be acceptable to use a friend's game? Like if I let them know what I want done for each event? If not, I totally understand, just making sure for future events. :3

Unfortunately we would be unable to accept this. You need to make all of your entries for our events independently.

While it would be too late to participate in our Season of Giving event, fingers-crossed Santa blesses you with a Switch and Animal Crossing: New Horizons this Christmas! 🎅

Snowflakes will be sent out at least once per day to ensure that people have time to spend them ahead of the daily Top Gift Givers Leaderboard update at 7pm EST (12am GMT+0). In order to receive snowflakes when they are rolled out your entry needs to first be accepted by a staff member.
