Welcome Amiibo

So I decided that this time around, I would play the Welcome Amiibo version of NL.
I heard in this version that villager homes and so on won't ruin your custom paths, and I was wondering, other than adding the Amiibo compatibility, if ther are any other QoL improvements, gameplay, or just some cute quirks that were added to the Welcome Amiibo update.

I believe one of the other additions was the ability to sit on rocks. It's a small thing, but kind of cute. I didn't start playing until after Welcome Amiibo so I'm not too familiar with what changes were made.
