Weirdly Brief House Visits from my Villagers?

Lately my villagers have finally started requesting to come to my house and I'm very happy about this! But there's been a weird pattern from the last few visits

The first to ask was Chief; his visit was entirely normal, and he stayed for quite a while before that dialogue box pops up where you can have them leave or ask them to stay longer

The last 3 visits however (Curt, Reneigh, and Audie) have all gone like this; the villager either asks to come over/drops in while I'm home, and they stay for like half a minute (no joke) then the dialogue pops up like they've been there for hours ._. I have to ask them to stay longer cause they would just arrive before asking to leave already!

Some things to note:

1. I have no cockroaches in my home
2. I have max friendship with all villagers mentioned

Is this a normal part of gameplay? Or is there something I'm not aware of that effects how long they stay when they first arrive?

Might want to check your wallet and other valuables in real life. Make sure everything is still there.

In all seriousness, though, I think this is normal, but I wouldn't have any idea what triggers it aside from RNG.

Its all good, same thing happens to me,

Marshal will ask to come over, after playing a game, give him a tour, he wants to leave. I tell him to stay, and he doesnt leave for a half hour

Sasha comes in on his own, stays, says hes gonna leave, I say stay, and he stays longer.

Then theres Kid Cat whos beyond maxed, and he stays for a bit but asks to leave, tell him to stay. Few minutes later he leaves

Ive got max friendship with all of them. Dont worry its random

That usually happens with Vic and Boomer with me, even though we are at maximum friendship. I was very disappointed when Buck came over even though I have 4 photos from Buck, he still only stayed for a very short time, then left to patrol the island. I'm glad that's only happened once with Buck.

I have been having my islanders always visit when I am home for me though its been the same islander that keeps coming over.

Sounds like a win to me.

My villagers will stay for like 15 minutes.
I dont have the heart to just leave so I sit around waiting like an idiot

I have had that happen sometimes. Usually, if I refuse to interact in any way, they tend to skedaddle pretty quickly, and send me a gift in the post. They can also leave quickly with excessive chat. The only time I find they stay for a long time is when they want to check out all of the other rooms.
