For some reason, today I was thinking about a time when I had a really funny Club Tortimer experience. Back when my friend had ACNL, (her cartridge stopped working) she visited my town, and we went to the international island. A visiter arrived and I think her name started with an M, but we called her Milky for short lol. A few more players showed up on the island. Anyway, my friend and I were talking to the other players, and my friend started messing around, saying made-up things about herself. Unfortunately, Milky didn't agree with the things my friend said, and she started being mean and saying things like, "Ew" and "Stay away!" The other players were confused and encouraged Milky to be nice, but it wasn't happening. When Milky went in the ocean, my friend followed. Milky was all like, "Ew, get out of the ocean, she's poisonous! Blah blah blah." The others probably thought Milky was truly hurting my friend's feelings. My friend was simply messing around with everyone. We were both hysterical. Okay so here's the funny (or deranged) part. I rented an axe and started chasing Milky around the island once she returned from her swim. I ran around the whole island with my axe while the other players were standing around all shocked and flabbergasted. It was so funny cause they were like "Uh...what's going on?" Yeah, Milky left. And everyone there probably thought my friend and I were lunatics haha. It was all in good fun. My friend would always mess around with the other players.
Anybody have weird, wonderful, or funny island stories?
I've only gone to the island a couple times (the thought of going honestly causes me anxiety tbh)
The last time I went, I ran into this girl named Hannah. We did a bunch of island tours together, and she even bought me a ukulele-- she was really nice, and the experience was definitely pretty good.
I dunno Michelangelo, i think chasing that girl around with an axe was definitely... weird. I woulda flipped the switch on you, or at least hit the 'report button' feature.
My funny stories involve the trolls. one girl was begging everyone for bells, even though she was wearing... a royal crown worth a million bells. Hello! nobody gave her a dime...
twice at the international island i started chatting in spanish and in german, respectively, with other players from those countries but then they started telling me they wanted a boyfriend so i had to suddenly pretend i didn't speak their language- -oops!!
weird-- its always weird when see you somebody afk or something just standing there the whole time doing nothing, especially bc of the way the game makes the characters sway and bob their heads, it just looks bizarre.
one time i saw an afk guy and he and i were wearing the exact same outfit head to toe...
wonderful (well, pretty cool anyway), i met a really nice player from Japan named Keiko, we exchanged FCs and visited each other a bunch of times.
I think the only strange encounter I've ever had happened shortly after I got the game.
I had only unlocked the Island a week or so prior, and was heading to the international island for the first time. When I got there, there were already 3 other people on the island, and they were all speaking Japanese. At the time, I didn't speak a lick of Japanese, but I figured since I was already there that I might as well grab some fruit and shells before I left to make up for the bells I used to get there. When I started shaking trees one of the Japanese guys walked over and said something to me, so I just replied "Hi" then he went back to his group and they kept talking for a little bit, and then all of them surrounded my character. They didn't say anything, they just crowded around me. I sent a few question marks in the chat but they ignored me and didn't stop following me until I went back inside to go home. I still have no idea what they were doing, my best guess is that they were trying to make me leave, but I don't truly know. That was the first and last time I went to the international Island though.
