I just buried a peach, walked around town a little bit to bury some more and when I came back, it had wilted! As if I had gone forward a day!

Has anyone else had this happen? I only left it for literally 2 minutes and it died on me!

you sure it was the same spot
you sure you didnt find somethin that wilted the day before

Yeah, I dug up a bush and planted it in it's place so I know it's the same area. Plus it has been months since I lasted planted anything :S

There is a certain time of day things grow/wilt etc. perhaps you just planted it before that time. Presumably it wasn't growing next to anything, in which case it would just be a random wilt.

I've noticed that some saplings die when you've planted them, usually because you've planted them in a bad spot. What time of the year is it in your game? In certain times of the year, the saplings look kind of wilted when you've planted them but they're normal, it's just that all the trees look brownish and dead.

It was definitely wilted, the leaves were droopy and it was pretty much grey lol

Its just strange because they usually wilt after a day if they're in a bad spot but it was literally a few minutes after I had planted it O.o And I planted it at 3:45pm so it's not like it was before a time where the game refreshes itself

While reading some tutorial I read that there are certain dead spots in your town in which nothing will grow, maybe that's the case.

apparently dead spots don't exist. did you have other trees or bushes around where you planted that peach?

If dead spots don't exist, are there more than 8 ( I think ? ) trees in a square area? I think you may only plant a limited amount of them in a single area.

basically or you're planting too many at the same time that it ends up squishing some of them and end up wilting the next day. it happened to me that I ended up chopping the trees and planted the bushes to see if they'll wilt again but they didn't.

I don't think you understand what I mean.

If it was in a bad spot/dead spot/too close to something else then it would wilt.. The next day.

I planted I in a good spot (i actually planted it in the place of an old bush so I know things grow there)

2 minutes later (not the next day, not after time travelling) two real time minutes later, the sapling was wilted.

I'm sure that's not normal O.o

Are you sure it's wilted? Which season is it in your game?

And did you water the sapling after planting?

It was definitely wilted, wish I'd taken a picture now.

I planted about 5 saplings today, I planted that one first, then the other 4 and when I came back it was wilted. It was grey and drooping, not like the other saplings that were the normal brown colour (for December) with leaves sticking up

In Wild World, I found that if I planted too many trees at a time (even if they weren't near each other) a few would die. But that was after a day.

So weird. The dead spot thing sounds like a possibility?

I have plenty of dead spots. Ive tried planting tree after tree in some spots to make my orchard and nothing will grow in those spots including flowers.
