okay, so i know this isnt really about acnh, but...

i have shoulder length hair irl, but since im non-binary, i really wanna get it cut, so i gave my character short hair n i feel like its not very common to look different than your character-

it's definitely okay to have your character to look not-exactly-like-you, just decorate yourself to however you want to be :>

If anyone ever tries to tell you that your cuaracter shouldn’t look a certain way (hair style, skin color, etc.) just click ignore. You can be whoever you like in the game!

Yeah, there's nothing wrong with having your character have different hair than you. IRL I dress fairly plain/ "normal," but I like my ACNH character to wear lots of frilly clothes, pastel colors, etc. It's totally okay if the character is a different expression of who you are rather than an exact replica of what you look like! I enjoy giving my character pink hair sometimes, even though I'd never be brave enough to dye my irl hair bright colors.

i think it's pretty common to not look exactly like your character. my character has silver hair most of the time, and while my gray hairs are going pretty wild irl i'm still a brunette. and i change my character's hairstyle constantly lmao

Honestly, it’s part of the fun to change up your look. I change my hairstyle & color/eye color in the game every other day. I hope they add more variety soon

im transmasc nonbinary, and i present really masc irl, but in nh i just wear whatever i like!!! my character is supposed to be me, but i usually put him in haircuts and dye jobs i dont have or wouldnt suit me irl

I guess pretty much, you can be whoever you wanna be and look like. My eyes in the game are a different color from my RL brown. And in NL, my character had more auburn hair than RL black. I just want my girl to be pretty ❤

My villager looks pretty much the complete opposite of me. At first I felt kind of weird about it because I'd go to my friend's islands and they'd all look similar to their characters and I looked totally different, but now I don't let it bother me anymore! I like dressing my character in hairstyles and outfits I'd never try IRL, I actually find it more fun than trying to make my character match what I really look like.

Some people like to have it look like themselves, but some people like to make it different.
I have two characters, my main which looks like me and my second which does not.

My character doesn't look like me at all! If anything, she's what I want to look like haha. I've always wanted to dye my hair pink but have never had the courage to. So my character has pink hair and also wears all these cute clothes I wouldn't have the confidence to wear in real life!
